Boyle County/Johnson Central Predictions
I'm going with Boyle in this one(of course). I think it will take JC 2 quarters to even realize what McShara is about, and if/when they do, Cook, Dawson, Goldsmith & company will make them pay elswhere. I can't wait till Friday!!! It's going to be a great game and most importantly I hope it's INJURY FREE! BC- 27 JC- 14 Let's Go Rebels

If only Four classes, who doesn't have a '08 title
As would us Boyle fans. I don't think any of us Boyle countians have said Bell was "LUCKY" to beat us or to be in the state game. They played their tails off all season and "EARNED" their way there. Yes, some plays went their way, and some went Boyles, we made costly mistakes at key times during that particular game, but at the end of the game, i'm sure neither team felt that the other team wasn't good enough to go to Louisville. I know this Boyle fan would have taken a little more luck that night on log mountain.

The way the system is designed, why wouldn't 5a be tougher than 4a? Don't they have a larger talent pool to build their team on? It's like saying "In my opinion, 5a is alot tougher than 2a", but that doesn't stop anyone from playing in it, now does it? By the way, what is the current record when Highlands and Boyle meet in Louisville? Last I checked, it was pretty close, and it was definately not a no brainer to root for Boyle when they did match up there.

What Do You Have Coming Back in '09..?
According to Boyle's roster, they should have 23 seniors for the 09 season. out of that number, i'm not sure exactly how many started this past season. Some of our better impact players off the top of my head are: Mcshara-RB/DEF/DB Senior Dawson-TE/DEF/LB Junior G. Aumiller-DEF/DL Senior Goldsmith-QB/DEF Senior Chris Cook-RB/DEF/DB Junior Megilligan-DEF/DB, Junior Steven Campbell-TE/DEF/LB Senior Nick Williams-WR/DEF/DB Senior I'm sure there are others, but I do remember those guys making a great contribution this past year. Keep an eye out for Jesse Mattingly to help out Mcshara this season also, he's been pretty impressive coming up through the Rebel program.

What Do You Have Coming Back in '09..?
I work with Ben's dad and he says Ben just doesn't much care for football, I think he actually considered quitting basketball a couple of years ago, but hung in there and began seeing results from all his hard work. Let's hope the staff at BC will maybe convince him to suit up, I'll see what I can do about letting his dad know how much we need him. I assume Ben will be a senior next year. I see his name in the newspaper alot concerning cross country, but I guess I never noticed what grade is in.

What Do You Have Coming Back in '09..?
Boyle will be returning some great players for the '09 season. Reese mcshara will be our senior running back, along with senior QB Boone Goldsmith. There's a number of great linemen returning and the weakest position that I would forsee would be receiver. I'm sure coach French and crew will have them ready to rock soon enough. It's going to be an exciting year in 2009.

Mercer County
Not to take anything away from coach Jaggers, but Ray Charles could have seen that championship trophy at the beginning of the year of the merger. Heck, with Mercers talent that year, Helen Kellar could have started as quarterback. All kidding aside, I'm glad each of those young men on that team had the opportunity to win a state championship. It's something they'll never forget. It does take a good coach/coaching staff to keep the talent playing each year and not roaming the halls. But from what I hear at work(I work in Mercer), coach Jaggers has lost the support from most of the community since that championship year. In my opinion, there are two ways you can look at this: 1) Coach Jaggers didn't get the head coaching job at mercer for having a reputation as a bad coach or a record that was anything but impressive. or 2) You don't lose the support of your loyal titan community overnight, apparantly it took more than one or two bad judgement calls to cause this much uproar about the future of thehead coaching spot. Like I said, I don't have a dog in this fight, i'm just giving you guys an outsiders prospective. Whatever happens, I look forward to the rivalry games between our programs.

2008 Boyle County Rebels
Great post, these are/were an awesome bunch of kids. They didn't know the meaning of giving up. There was a few games were I thought going into them, that we may end up on the losing end, but as usuall, they showed their toughness and unity as a "team family". I've been supporting the Rebels since I graduated, 17 years ago, through thick and thin (and thinner). and though i've been blessed with 2 beautiful daughters and won't get to watch them on the football field, they have been raised in a rebel household, and know the tradition and heritage of the rebel community. My oldest daughter (freshman) came home from school a few weeks back with a glow on her face. I figured she just had a new crush on some boy:rolleyes:, but she was excited that they had asked her to sing the national anthem at 2 of the playoff home games. Now folks, her mom and I spend the majority of the year running this girl all around the state to sing at different events, but you would have thought she had just won that american idol or something. She was just so proud to finally have the opportunity to perform for the great fans and athletes of Rebel stadium. To the parents of those that graduate this year, please let your boys know how proud we are of each and every one of them and their dedication to the rebel program. And to the parents of those returning, tell your young fellows to keep hitting hard because we're going to be awesome again next year:fight: GO REBELS

I know my throat is killing me from all the cheering. Good game Bobcats, you guys should have a great time next week at papa johns. I know the Rebels shot thierselfs in the foot a few times tonight, but both teams should be proud of thier programs putting on one heck of a show. Thanks to the all the Rebel fans for getting out and supporting your team, and thanks to the Bobcats for hosting a great game. Your facilities and all the folks I came in contact with tonight were top notch. Good luck at state. As for my rebels. At least the loss came from a program like Bell County and not some VMI team. I look for us to really be a more powerful program next season with all of our returning talent.

Bell County 19 Knox Central 14
Hilton wouldn't risk a playoff game to have someone hopefully overlook them, he's the kind of coach that plays head to head and then gets his team prepared for the next game. Trickery isn't going to win the game this friday, practice and hard work will. You should give KC credit where credit is due. They played a tough game.

4A: Boyle County Rebels (13-0) at Bell County Bobcats (13-0)
PurplePride92, you'd better make sure those kids are bundled up friday. I'm sure we'll be warm enough screamin' & yellin', but if they're anything like mine, they'll be in the truck by halftime.

4A: Boyle County Rebels (13-0) at Bell County Bobcats (13-0)
No. I was watching the Rebels friday. It usually takes me a week or so to learn the names of our opponents. Is this the kid that has been kicking the 50-60 yrd field goals? Hopefully Boyle won't be recieving too many kickoffs, and plenty of punts;) I do hope it's good weather this friday though. I can deal with the cold, but i'd love both our teams to have a clear night to smash it out. I'll be their early, how are the visitors stands?

Did he play against Knox Central friday? Just curious.
