Brad Todd is a good football coach and a good man. The new coach would do well to keep him if the their personalities are compatible. If not, then he needs to go in a different direction. It is rare, yet not unheard of for the head coach to resign and then stay on as an assistant.

Coach Arvin has worked with other outstanding programs including Christian Co. under coach Lovelace and at Lassiter H.S. in Georgia, where they won their first region title in school history while Coach Arvin was there. David is a good person and coach. Congrats Coach Arvin. Go Braves.

The host school pays for the trophies if there are any given out for a playoff game. That is same as it is done during basketball season. The money for the trophies comes from the gate.

Actually it wasn't the KHSAA, it was the steering committee (made up of coaches from both football & basketball) that suggested this idiotic move of no 7 on 7 in June. The schools then voted to approve the bill that the steering committe devised. I was a head coach in KY when this was coming into legislation and voiced my opinion against it, but there were several key coaches on the committee that "drank the kool aid" or saw it benefiting their program and supported it. It has been and will continue to be a bad deal for H.S. football in KY.

There is nothing holding schools back from having "open field" for baseball. To have 10 days of "fall practice" is not real feasible, because most of your baseball players are either playing in a fall league or playing a varsity sport for their school. So it is really mute point.

Look at the difference in the sports. Look at the money generated by football and basketball. If you want quality non-revenue sports (and I am a big proponent of non-revenue sports, having coach track at the H.S. level) then you better have quality football and/or basketball, because those two sports fund all the others.

This will not be the first time that LC and CC have squared off in the regular season. LC and CC played in the Bluegrass Bowl to start the 2000 season. Don't remember the score, but LC won that one.
