Sure hope that Brent Thompson gets a shot ... I know he has wanted to come home for a while. I think it is time he gets his shot.

I agree, Brent is a Panther through and through. He will bring passion and excitement to the program and rejuvenate a program that is rich in history. He will also do as the article insisted and keep coach Todd on staff as the OC...he will be the best choice in the long run.

Todd staying on may or may not happen.

One name I've heard might surprise a lot of people. The names I'm getting are coming from a friend of mine who's in the coaching biz, and has been for quite some time, so I know his information is pretty solid.

According to the article in Etown, Todd is staying on board. I am not sure this will be negotiable, at least that was the tone of the super in the article!

Not the super. That was the school's AD. Todd isn't sure if he'll stay on.

 

He said if the new head coach wanted him to, he would. It's not a given.

Brad Todd is a good football coach and a good man. The new coach would do well to keep him if the their personalities are compatible. If not, then he needs to go in a different direction. It is rare, yet not unheard of for the head coach to resign and then stay on as an assistant.

I think that this is a 1 man race... I have heard only one name and that is Brent Thompson. He is an alum of Etown and was there when they went to the State Championship in 2003. I agree with Dark Horse- Brent is a Panther thru and thru!! GREAT CHOICE...

Because I'd rather not. I was told the names in confidence and told that person I wouldn't repeat the information.

I think Etown would be crazy not to hire Thompson. Great football coach who grew up there and was also on staff when they had success.

What grade is his son that plays quarterback in?

He is currently a junior. Come football season he will be a senior.
