Rumor has it that Blue Licks State Park will be getting a convention hall/arena. Heard capacity will be around 9,500. Insiders said possible name could be The Buffalo Trace Center at Blue Licks. Anyone else heard about this? Could this be another option for the 10th Region Tournament?

Here is a good example for not letting District winners host. Let's say for sake of arguement that St. Pat, Augusta, or Brossart (Obviously this is more realistic than the other two) were District Champs. How would you like being a district runner-up playing your first round in one of those gyms. Could you hear the up roar of the 10th region faithful?

I agree the call was bad. But are you telling me it's alright for a player to get up and scream in a refs face? Don't think so. The T was legit. O'Connor should have been the one to show restraint. He let his emotions get the best of him and it hurt his team.

My heart goes out to Franklin County. If anyone has seen the video you know these young men got this taken away from them. Getting beat on a last second shot to end the season is always tough. But to lose like this? I just could not imagine how tough it would be to take.

Hate the idea of first round games being played at 4 seperate locations. As a basketball fan I like to watch all the games. Leave the format as is. I personally don't care if its at Mason, Montgomery, or BOKC. Just leave the format alone. Chief please stick to football.

Well then they either need to grow some thicker skin or get out of the business if they don't liked to be questioned.

Boyd Co. has went down in flames over the past couple of seasons. It will take patience to get them back to their Glory Days! Would Lion fans have ever dreamed a couple of years ago that they would have a 2 win season and those wins coming against Rose Hill? Very sad situation.

This had no impact on the out come of the game. But, Wade Branscum should be ashamed of himself for giving Bracken County's Coach a technical. Persinger did not show him up or was even animated. He was simply asking a question and Branscum pulled a quick trigger. I've seen a very prominent coach from the 44 District this season scream, kick, stop, and cuss the very same official and he did nothing. Should be ashamed to call himself an official.

Would you expect anything less from him?

I agree also. If this happens I believe the coach has the right to request the other bench. I've seen that happen before during warmups. The teams switched benches and the ends of the floor.

Jason Hinson is the current assistant coach at Augusta. He was head coach at St. Pat for 4 seasons. He got them to the Class A region finals in his first season and led them to the 10 region last year where they played Clark Co. very tough before falling in the last minutes. Before he was at St. Pat he was an assistant at Deming for 3 years. He coached boys and girls middle school at Bracken Co. for many years prior to that.

I for one think it's good for kids to play more than one sport. I believe that all sports can complement one another. Kids who play one sport often suffer from burnout and by the time they are a junior or senior, they have lost all interest. I know I will get blasted for this but I wish the KHSAA would step in and ban all summer basketball, and put a limit on baseball and football done in the summer. As well as monitor the involvement of AAU. What ever happened to kids being kids. If they wanted to participate in the summer they would pick out some camps and attend. However, to be competitive kids have to play year round. It a situation for both coaches and players of darned if you do and darned if you don't.

1987 38th District semifinal Bracken Co. and Deming. Bracken Co. wins on a questionable tip in at the buzzer. Being very big rivals this turns into a heated situation, were the principals almost get into a fight. Both schools agree not to play the previous year. So the rematch is the 1988 District title game Deming gets their revenge by beating Bracken Co. by 15 points. Boy I loved the old 38th had many good games and great rivals.

What about 1986 Rex Chapman's senior year. Apollo falls to Owensboro in the semifinals in a heartbreaker. Bringing an end to Chapman's career in the district when they had gone to the state the previous year. Memory little fuzzy but I believe Owensboro made it to the state that year. So like the 2005 38th district tournament the 3rd decided their regional champion in the first round of the district. I know people from all over the state drove to Owensboro to see this game.

Boy the Igloo sure isn't kind to the Lady Saints. Maybe they should get Orme back!!

When was the last year Bracken Co. made it to the region? Was it 2004 when they upset Brossart? I can remember when Bracken Co. was basically in the region every year.

Whatever!! I think Deming has done pretty good over the past few years. With what 115 kids in their school. What's Harrison Co. got? Let's not forget the District finals from last years and the wonderful calls Harrison Co. got down the stretch to win it. Your very own Coach Reitz said he was embarrassed to win it that way. But lets not letthis thread get away from what its meant to and talk about tonights game. It was a very good game that went down to the last possession. Both teams left it on the floor tonight and Pendleton co. came out on top. Congrats to Pendleton and Coach Sims and his staff. Good Luck the rest of the postseason.

Deming had been to the region 4 years in a row and 5 of the last six. I believe that's the best run in school history.
