It appears to me the attendance is up compared to my memory of last year. What suggestions might make this an even better venue?

It seems it is bigger this year, but that may be due to the general admission seating and not assigned seating. Plus, fans know where their team section is so they can sit there. I had fun last night, can't wait until Sat. night.

Half times seem a bit dead. Some local talent singing the anthem would make it a bit more High Schoolish, I have heard some great singers this year around the 9th.

 

Get the students to the game. contests, reduction in price for the night your school is playing. Give an award each game to the best student section at half time. Skyline tickets or anything.

Halftime is dead, I love what State tourney does, shooting competition with a student from each school against each other. Need something like that.

I agree, the concessions are extremely high priced. I think some type of half court shot prize would be fun, or students from each school have a three point shoot around, some type of half time enjoyment.

It is a bit amazing to me. Ten people will be in the stand at 5pm waiting on someone to approach. My theory is the other 9 who don't wait on you will jump over the counter and grab your wallet if you run off without paying.

 

In thier defense the food is very good. And the service is very prompt.

One of the teams broke out the small plastic balls and threw them to the crowd, that was even a big hit. Theoldguy almost cried when he didn't get one.

I agree that concession prices are high. But, in fairness to the BOK arena, this problem is not exclusive to them. A 3 minute spot check of current threads on BGP reveals an entire thread devoted to concessions at the Mason County Fieldhouse (mostly critical), the Arena @ Corbin (concession prices are outrageous), etc. etc. If I had another couple of minutes, I am sure I could find similar sentiments expressed throughout the state. I like the BOK's general admission seating, rather than last year's format of a ticket placing a fan into an assigned seat. The BOK staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The only suggestion I would have after attending Wednesday's games would be to not place opposing team fans, students and bands adjacent to /behind the bench. St. Henry's fans and St. Henry's band were behind Cov. Cath's bench. The St. Henry contingent was, as always, very classy so it was not a problem. Under different circumstances it could be. A thread from the 10th region tournament is chock full of complaints against opposing team fans seated behind the bench disrupting time outs, etc. Otherwise, I would give the BOK arena an A+.

The change of the scoreboard procedure is the best improvement. Individual stats were not up there last year. Whomever got that worked out deserves a round of applause.

I would assume the 9th region even is better and more fan friendly this year becuase the 10th region tournament is back where it belongs thus lessening the confusion. I don't believe two tournaments can be at the BOK at the same time and it's not fair to either fans of the respective tournaments/schools for it to be.

Had I been from the 10th I would have hated it, but for me it was nice to see the 10th Region tourny teams in action, my drive was only 10 minutes.

As a fan of high school hoops, I loved the set up last year of both the 9th and 10th boys. Because they are an hour and a half away I'll not be able to see the best of both regions this year.:irked:

Conscessions are high but you have to remember people are getting paid to work them, unlike a normal high school game.

If I heard it once, I heard this 50 times over the last few days. "If this game was a Holmes or Conner I wouldn't have come." I believe alot of casual fans show up at this venue that wouldn't normally go. They don't want to face all the parking issues and having to get there early enough to get a seat. But the main reason to keep the tounament at NKU is the players love it.
