Wrong! I believe there was an agreement that if the 10th did come back this year, they would get the second time slot for the boys championship game, switched from last year.

 

Myself, Theoldguy, and I am sure several others, watched every single boys 9th and 10th regional game last year, I think theoldguy watched the girls as well. I LOVED the idea of having all first round games the same day! I was a great day of basketball!

 

I'm a Brossart guy and I absolutely LOVE the Fieldhouse. Atmosphere combined with all the tradition, its a basketball MECCA. I love it!

Great idea! I couldn't believe how those two pulled off some of their tricks when I saw them at the last X game I went to. As far as TOG digging up the folgers can full of 1972 ten dollar bills I would pay to see that as well. Lol

What about the start times of the games? Would most prefer to have the first game at 6:30 and second game at 8:00pm or do most like the way it is now?

So true, which is why I left my credit cards at home this time. It just seems like they did not have as much as last year? theoldguy (not that old btw) would know, but I got something every night last year that I could not resist, but I forgot what it was. I do miss the Greater's malts this year too, lol.

I made my first trip to the field house last night for a regional tourney. It is a great high school gym with a lot of history. I also had tickets to the 9th -10th last year at the BOK. No comparison, the BOK is a much better place to enjoy the games and a great venue for a high schooler to end his career or to heighten his playing experience. I loved the format last year. Being able to see all of those games was fantastic. For those of you who didn't like the game times of the 10th it was because they signed up later?

As for parking, you can wait in line at the BOK to leave or you can park a mile away in the mud in Mason--let's call that a draw.

As for concessions, I'm OK paying a little extra for a cheese coney versus a buck or so for a paper bag full of popcorn. Thanks to another thread I was given the heads up about the concessions at the filed house I was smart enough to leave a little early and take in some clam chowder and a drink at DeShay's. --BOK wins this one.

As for comfort, I'll take a back on my seat in a temperature controlled environment, versus a hot humid wood bench seat.--BOK wins again.

I am not sure what they had to work with this year as far as available dates. But it would have been nice to have the finals tonight, a Saturday, thinking it will be a much larger crowd. But as has been stated a few times, they are learning how to tweak the event to make it even better.

I do find it odd that there is so much security in the place. I was there Monday night for the girl's games and there was almost one cop for every fan.

 

There wasn't that much security at the Duke-Maryland game. Oh, wait. Probably not a good comparison.
