One of the teams broke out the small plastic balls and threw them to the crowd, that was even a big hit. Theoldguy almost cried when he didn't get one.

I would love to have a talent contest from the district games, that awards the student/students/group (best of each District) to sing the National Athem at the start of the night, and I think a three point contest would be great for the studnets attending the game. Maybe a dollar prize for the school with the best cheeiring attandance best on percentage of students attending! Or how about grade shools playng or the like the special oplycips kids playing...

 

Remember. it's just the second year and it will get better and better as the Ninth and the BOKC learn what works and doesn't.

BTW as far as the scoreboard, the credit goes to Mr. Madrick of Holmes and my guess this year it would Mr. Madrick who would be the person to get things done.

 

BTW a game program for the fans would be great and I think the press would love to have stats of the game sheets after each quarter and game to make their jobs easier!

It is a bit amazing to me. Ten people will be in the stand at 5pm waiting on someone to approach. My theory is the other 9 who don't wait on you will jump over the counter and grab your wallet if you run off without paying.

 

In thier defense the food is very good. And the service is very prompt.

The change of the scoreboard procedure is the best improvement. Individual stats were not up there last year. Whomever got that worked out deserves a round of applause.

Conscessions are high but you have to remember people are getting paid to work them, unlike a normal high school game.

 

I'm pretty sure they use volunteer groups to man the events at BOK. the 'workers' donate the money to their perspective school or charity. Granted it is a cost added to the food, but also an opportunity.

Even if they charged for a program I would be willing to pay a few dollars for a book with rosters and team information. Could be a good way to sell ad space as well.

What about the start times of the games? Would most prefer to have the first game at 6:30 and second game at 8:00pm or do most like the way it is now?

Thought the attendance last night was very good........for the interested fan (not affiliated w/ a participating school) it works very well; comfortable seat, no crowding into a cheering section or waiting for the first game to leave, etc. The atmoshere could be enhanced as discussed here...never a bad thing to get students involved at halftime, pregame, whatever.

If you think it's bad for the bball games you should try going to a concert there. I have heard they are already looking into improving the parking / traffic situation in future years.

I can only hope that the long-term design accounts for this issue.......I know it is not complete but right now, but.......it is a serious flaw to have the only entrance positioned away from ANY parking !:confused:

I am sure, that one belongs to NKU and not the Ninth Region.

 

The Ninth really can't do anything about the food nor parking cost, but I will give Mr. Madrick ( if he is at the BOKC tonight) a list of things that was mentioned in this thread that fans would like to see.

 

Let me know if there is anything else anyone would like to see or have done. Really the people in charge are all ears and really would like to please the fans as much as possible but they have to know what you want.

I know high school boosters/parents work PBS concessions during Bengals games and make money for their respective school teams. Why couldn't boosters/parents volunteer at BOK to keep prices down? Ex. Boone/Holmes parents could work during the first game tomorrow night, and CCH/Newport parents could do the same during the second game. Just an idea to try to get concession prices reduced.

If things goes well this week, which it seems to be, I see this event growing more and more each year. I really didn't like it last year, but after attending last night's game I am coming around to keeping it at BOKC.
