  1. It would have been a three way tie. All beat Nicholas. Pendleton beat Harrison, Harrison beat Deming, and Deming beat Pendleton. Don't know how the tie breaker would have went.
  2. Feb. 21 Harrison County/Nicholas County Feb. 22 Pendleton County/Deming Let the fun begin!!! Girls draw is the same.
  3. Just curious when was the last time Mason County lost back to back games to 10th Region teams? I know it's been quite some time. Very impressive run.
  4. Bears bounce back with win over the Colonels. Anyone with details?
  5. You get a fee for running the tournament. Yes, I will agree with you. But from that fee comes your expenses.
  6. Were talking Regent's Hall which is not all that grand. I believe your refering to the BOKC.
  7. Not the case. The host school gets reimbursed for expenses. Normally the host school makes their money from the concessions and from programs if they wish to sell them. Since NKU is getting the concessions, all BB will get is reimbursed for their expenses which is not generating revenue. Plus, 1/9 of the gate after expenses. So this is not the cash cow for BB as you make it out to be. I bet Bracken County is counting their parking spaces as we speak. At $3.00 they will generate alot of revenue for their program next year!!
  8. Gate is split between the 9 member schools. Parking fee goes to Nku as does the concessions. So tell me how is this revenue-generating for BB?
  9. The point is Brossart's Gym does not seat 1000 people. What gives them more right than the other Class A Schools. I will go to some of the games and pay the $3 for parking, but this should of never happened. Thanks for the convience fee.
  10. You Know Brossart calls the Class A Tournament their Tournament.
  11. Before I start my rant I want to give alittle background. The 10th region "A" member schools agreed years ago in order to host the tournament their gym needed to hold 1000 people. Cal. Christian's gym does not meet the criteria so they passed it on. Same for Augusta, Silver Grove, and St. Patrick. However, for some reason Bishop Brossart who does not have a gym big enough to hold the tournament. Can't follow suite and pass on the tournament. They have to have their say. In years past they have used the Campbell County Middle School for their site. This year there is a conflict with CCMS so they have decided to move the tournament to Regents Hall on the campus of NKU. IMO I believe this is a time for the "A" schools to have the chance to showcase their gyms. Because we all know they will never be hosting the at-large region or even their own district tournaments. Now to add insult to injury the 10th region schools today were informed that NKU will be charging $3.00 to park. I've been to the All "A" at CCMS, Bracken County, Deming, Nicholas County, and Paris and I've never had to pay $3.00 there to park. But thanks to Brossarts selfishness you will be doing it this year if you attend the tournament. I hate to think that this will cause some people not to attend the tournament. Especially the students of the participating schools. So I hope Brossart is proud of how they are conducting this tournament. If anyone would like to voice their displeasure you should contact A.D. Mel Webster at Bishop Brossart. Tell him what you think. I know I will!!!:madman::madman::madman:
  12. Coach Sullivan starting to get things going in the right directions . Congrats to Cooper on the win!
  13. Poor first period start for the Devils in this one. Mason has a 20-4 lead after the first. Deming is able to pull it to 11 at the half. I believe Deming cut it to 7 in the 3rd. However, Setty's height is too much for the Devils and he gets 32 in the 14 point win. Not going to say Deming would have won. But if they play any type of ball in the first frame it could have made it fairly interesting. Congrats to the Royals. There trio of Setty, Gilbert, and Black were too much for Deming to overcome. However, Goldie the Royal bench didn't get the minutes you said they were in the prediction thread. Good Luck to both the Royals and Devils the rest of the way!!
  14. Deming improves their record to 8-4 defeating Bracken County in the Championship game. Congratulations to the Devils who went 4-0 in the tournament defeating Augusta, Leslie County, South Laurel, and Bracken County. Next up for the Devils will be St. Pat on Tuesday night at the Devils Dome. Congratulations also goes out to the Polar Bears for a well played tournament.

  16. Kyle King scored his 2000th career point in a win over Leslie County last night. He should become the boys career leader at Deming in the next few games. Stephen Staggs a 1995 graduate currently holds the record with 2056.
  17. Deming cruises to a 30 point win in the Bracken County Invitational. Congratulations to Deming's Kyle King he scored his 2000th career point tonight. Finished the game with 22points and 2001 career points as of tonight. He is now 55 points shy of being the all time boys leader. Devils will now face South Laurel tomorrow at 6:30.
  18. This is said news!!! I'm proud to say I'm one of his many great nephews. For those of you who did not get the honor to know him he had quite an accomplished basketball career. He was a member of the 1939 Brooksville State Championship team along with two of his brothers. He was named to the all-tournament team at the Sweet 16 in 1939 and 1940. He went on to have a successful career at Morehead State where his jersey is retired. He went into coaching and took Combs Memorial later Dilce Combs to the Sweet 16. He coached many years at Rowan County and had the Rowan County gym named in his honor. He is only one of two men to have played, coached, and refereed in the State Tournament. I always enjoyed the time I got to spend with him and listening to the many stories he had. Kentucky High School basketball has truly lost one of its GREATS!!!!!
  19. Wow! Shocked in this one. Know the Panthers played an overtime game last night. But I thought they would cruise in this one. Shows you got to be ready to play every night. The All "A" is shaping up to be a dandy in the 10th.
  20. Wow!!! Nicholas have some players out or did they just have a horrible game. 19 points really helps Pendleton's defensive average.
  21. It was supposed to be but scheduling conflict caused the change. Just wish Brossart would admit they don't have a big enough gym and would pull out of the rotation. Letting the tournament be hosted by "A" schools in their high school gyms. By the way Congrats to the Augusta Panthers!!
