What an awesome night of fights! This sets up some great future bouts, as well. Cowboy for the LW title, Weidman vs. Rockhold or Jacare will be fun! As a teacher and administrator, one of the things I worried and continue to worry about are teachers that think they are "friends" of their students. They don't know how to balance the relationship between being a confidant/mentor/support and being the adult. This guy had that problem, based on the brief amount of info in this article, and it seemed to spiral out of control.

I am just starting to get back into it thanks to my students. I have always liked playing the game, but my students have rekindled my interest.

Without definitive proof that Brady was involved, I can't see him getting more than 2 games. The language of the report is more of a "preponderance of evidence" conviction than "beyond reasonable doubt".

The officiating at the end of that game was horrible. The call on Duncan on the Parker shot was a phantom call. Then, the make up call on Reddick on Duncan was obvious. The buzzer going off with one second left...my god! This doesn't even include the atrocity that was the call on the Manu "shot" at the end of the third quarter. There were some poor efforts in the last 13 minutes by the officials, IMO.

I want to see the same people that write the DC Comics feature length cartoons write a Justice League movie. I think that Justice League Doom would be a great script for a live action Justice League movie.

I can't see a scenario were it is a good idea for an enigmatic player to develop a personal relationship with the GM knowing there is potential that the same player could develop an antagonistic relationship with either your head coach, star player or both. Phil mentoring Rondo in the way you describe only works if Phil is the coach.

I hate posing this as an either/or discussion. Some guys are born with incredible tangible assets for high level collegiate athletics. Some guys are not born with the ideal size or speed and are still able to make it at the highest levels, but even those individuals have incredible athletic gifts. Some guys have all the tangible assets and still don't make it for one reason or another. Every story is different.

If Phil were coaching, you would have a valid point. Derek Fisher would have to mesh with Rondo and I'm not sure how that would work with Fish in his second year. I also think Rondo and Carmelo are not a hand in glove fit.

The biggest asset to Rondo in LA is Kobe. Rondo and Kobe strike me as kindred spirits. Both probably think they are the smartest guy in the room. Both think through a basketball game at a high level. Both burn to win. The only question is can Byron Scott handle both Kobe AND Rondo? After reading this, I am convinced that Rondo to the Knicks would be a dumpster fire.

The model of paying a football coach used in the article is not unusual for Texas. The best in the state make 6 figure salaries and many of them do so without academic or core class teaching duties.

I always think position in terms of who you guard. Alex guards the 3, no? I don't really see him guarding true post players.
