Biggest Surprises In The Early Season

Featured Replies

What are they in all classes? What has shocked you in the early season?

For me it is:

1. Central beating Male

2. Boyle County being this good

3. DuPont Manual being the best public school in Louisville

Agree with you on these and probably that the Lex schools have no clear cut dominate team this year.

Central had a fourth-quarter lead on Manual ... no surprise, then, that they beat Male.

Manual was probably the best public school team in 6A last year and maybe the second best in the state behind Highlands.

I'm surprised by how down Lexington football is this year, especially 6A football but also it seems that LexCath is struggling more than I would have thought at this stage of the season.

Lexington Catholic lost 34 seniors of last season's state championship team. There early season struggle this season comes as no surprise.

Considering the way the 4th Quarter went in the Central/Manual game, we could very easily be saying that Lou. Central is the best public school in Louisville.

Seneca's young talent took me off guard.

Central had two key kids out against Manual. I would say Central 1-1 is still the best public school.

I agree with ram95, Seneca has real talent in the QB and receiver positions. They should be in the 6A top 10.

On that note, Bryan Station surprised me with how good they have looked. I know they get talent in cycles, but on film they looked pretty good to me.

Boyle County, No doubt. They are my pick to win the class 4A state championship at this point in the season.

Seneca's team is the biggest surprise, skill postions are a hand full.

Mine too! Coach French is a heck of a coach!
