  1. Great game by the Cats. CC went up 3-0 Walton came down and tied it up with a 2+1 to Sandlin and never looked back. I know that one of the girls from Campbell Co. was hurt and did not play. Hope she recover quickly. Walton's defense was very good tonight, tons of steals with the press. Good luck to CC the rest of the season. CAMPBELL CO. 9-7-13-14—43 at W.-VERONA 27-22-20-21—90 CAMPBELL COUNTY (7-2): Franzen 1 0 3, Mergard 1 0 2, Ca. Gray 0 1 1, Ch. 2. He has been dealing with some health related issues. As some of you may know because you may have played in the golf outing that is put on every year for juvenile diabetes - Zach is a diabetic. Zach and his family have raised a large amount of money over the past several years to help with the fight toward juvenile diabetes. Hopefully, Zach will be able to get his health under control and get back out on the basketball court.
  3. Good win for WV tonight. Hopefully this is what we have to look forward to seeing in the future games for the Bearcats. Yes, Sawyer played. There was a lot of beef on the floor at times tonight. Sawyer Williams 6'7", Carson Williams 6'4", Shelton 6'4", Hargett 6'5", Helton 6'5", Mosier 6'6" (some of those are guesses on heights). Walton pushed the ball up the floor and played an extended 2-3 on defense. Tanner Moeves had a nice game with 11pts and Chad Lucas had the best game that I have seen him play this year. Hargett played like a top 10 player in the region tonight. Posted and took the ball strong to the rim. Went to throw one down at the end of the game but was fouled. Not sure that he would of even attempted that last year! Again, great game by both teams. Owen has a nice team with good guards and size. Both teams played extremely hard.
  4. I'm not sure what's "busch league" about where the band plays, and has played, for 20 years. Next time, maybe they can move the band behind SK's bench.....now that would be "busch league".
  5. Kinmon did play but not near enough in my opinion. What he brings to the game is a hard nose work ethic that WV does not have right now.
  6. The band was in the same place that they are always in. As far as the game goes.....congrats to SK. They won the game. They played harder than WV did, out rebounded WV, made more three's and out coached WV tonight. WV didn't guard anyone, they cannot play through contact and they play scared. It's pretty embarrassing they way they are playing. They play like they are too worried about making mistakes instead of just playing the game of basketball. On a side note.....there was a really good crowd at the game tonight. Both sides were full. 99.9% of the SK's fans were great, including their pep section, however they may have the worst fan in the history of high school basketball. The guy in the orange shirt sitting in the middle of the visitors section.....was a complete bafoon. It was amazing the way he acted. Congrats to SK on a well played game. WV certainly needs to get things turned around. There are still plenty of games left to be played.
  7. Good luck to the Cats tonight. Hopefully they can get it rolling and get on track. WV in a close one.
  8. Congrats to NDA! Pretty sure for a lot of small schools that don't have a lot of transportation (buses) that the V and JV travel with the freshman. Sometimes it depends on the location of the game as well. Great pics again paNDA. You don't get a much better officiating crew than those 3 right there! Class Crew!
  9. Nice job by the CATS last night. Great job sharing the ball. Making the extra pass got them tons of open shots. Congrats to Courtney Sandlin on her 1000th point. Great pics paNDA!
  10. Congrats to Scott and Coach Carr!
  11. Here is the box score from the game. Gallatin County 49, Walton-Verona 39 Gallatin Co. (2-1) - Davis 2 5 10, Morris 1 0 3, O'Connor 2 0 5, Morgan 4 0 8, Z. Brown 3 9 15, N. Brown 1 0 3, Ingram 2 0 4, Hill 0 1 1. Totals: 15 15 49. Walton-Verona (1-3) - Dougherty 1 0 3, Lucas 0 1 1, Moeves 2 2 6, Hargett 5 4 14, Kinmon 2 0 5, McNeil 2 1 6, Cottrell 1 0 2, Mosier 1 0 2. Totals: 13 8 39. Halftime: Gallatin Co. 26-23. 3-Pointers: G 4 (Davis 1, Morris 1, O'Connor 1, N. Brown 1); W 3 (Dougherty 1, Kinmon 1, McNeil 1).
  12. Better hope that WV doesn't have a whole week off. It could end up like last year!
  13. No one has taken anything away from Owen as far as I can see. They have a very nice team and congrats to them on a big win. It is a long season and whole lot can happen between now and tournament time.
  14. Walton girls had a huge first week. Dunbar, Boone and then South Oldham. I doubt any team in the state had a tougher first week. Dunbar game was 2 overtimes and then they played well against Boone (game time 7:30 Friday), then go the SO (game time 2:30 Saturday) and win on the road. Walton girls will be fine. There is really no need for the transfer remark. Sorry that people want their children to go to Walton!
  15. Congrats to Coach Turner and the Lady Jags!:thumb:
  16. Good start by the Lady Bearcats and ALL OF THE COACH'S!!!!! Great game by Michelle Judy coming off the bench and putting up 20. Big 3 by Taulbee at the start of the 2nd overtime to get the Cats started. Hit your free throws and you win games! Clink, Sandlin, Taulbee, Judy all made their free throws. Dunbar's quickness gave Walton some trouble. They are extremely fast. This should be a very exciting season. No doubt about it, 3 of the worst officials I have ever seen and it was both ways!
  17. I don't believe that scrimmages are sanctioned by the KHSAA so there would be no penalty for anyone. Correct me if I am wrong on this.
  18. He did a nice job. He is in football shape and not basketball shape yet but moves up and down the floor pretty well. Did a nice job setting screens and getting some boards. It was great to see him on the floor. He will be a BIG addition because Walton will need a big body down low to bang with some of the other teams in the Eighth.
  19. Matt Hargett from Walton -Verona is Top 10 in the Eighth.
  20. Congratulations to Owen County on a very good season.
