Weakside

At least there was a good dunk during the game!

I agree.

Looks like Taulbee is starting to feel it with 5 three's in this one.

Looks like McNeil had a nice game for the Bearcats. Walton-Verona (9-3) - Schmitt 1 0 2, Moeves 1 0 2, Sullivan 3 7 14, Hargett 2 0 5, Cuzick 1 0 2, McNeil 9 5 26, Lynn 0 1 1, Monday 3 0 6. The educated SK faithful have to be so proud of you!

Is Burns not playing varsity for Brossart?

Great win by the Bearcats!

Walton Verona Sports Complex

I believe if given the opportunity, Molly Clinkenbeard would be an an excellent job at point guard. She makes very good decisions with the ball and see's the floor very well.

Family decision....I think that's funny. I guess a parent can talk their kid into whatever they want. It is hard to imagine why you would want to leave a class that is that strong. WV's Freshman class has been pretty successful over the last several years. If Drew keeps working hard in the off season he is going to be an excellent player its a shame he is being sent somewhere else.

Congrats to the Lady Cat softball team!

:deadhorse:

It was an excellent basketball game to watch. Both teams played hard and got after each other. The lead changed hands several times throughout the night. WV had their chances to get the win but just didn't convert in the 4th quarter. I was surprised that Burns did not make the all-tournament team. IMO, he certainly should have. Congrats to SK.

Congratulations to the Lady Bearcats and to all of their hard work!

Apparently you watched a different game than I did. Burns may not have scored but he, along with Reynolds and Monday, certainly affected Owen's bigs.

Nice win for WV. They nearly choked it up at the end but they were able to hang in there for the victory. Walton played 2-3 zone for the majority of the game which IMO, negated the size advantage that Owen has over Walton. Owen's guard play really struggles at times which really hampers the play of their big men. Osborne and Williams from Owen are going to be very nice players by the time they are seniors.

It's good to see WV's name in the newspaper, so congrats. Now, I hate to rain on the parade but I guess I will. It's a nice baseball field but anyone that has seen plenty of baseball fields would realize that it may not even be the nicest field in Northern Kentucky let alone in the nation. Let's just say that it would be nice if the amount of time that was spent working on the field was also used toward developing baseball players. Why spend time on teaching kids how to run on to the field, or worry about what color hanger you use for your uniform or if you know how to pick up rocks from the infield....teach kids how to hit and run, teach them how to field the baseball, throw strikes or understand situations. Focus more on the game then where it's played.

When I saw them play on Friday night they were shooting layups. The team they were playing could simply not handle the full court pressure that Holmes was supplying and was turning the ball over. I saw AB Combs play early in the day on Saturday and they only had 6 players. I'm surprised they were able to stay with Holmes. I'm guessing they played a 2-3zone against the Bulldogs.
