Walton Verona 48 Owen County 46

Good win for the Bearcats.

Nice win for WV. They nearly choked it up at the end but they were able to hang in there for the victory. Walton played 2-3 zone for the majority of the game which IMO, negated the size advantage that Owen has over Walton. Owen's guard play really struggles at times which really hampers the play of their big men. Osborne and Williams from Owen are going to be very nice players by the time they are seniors.

Congrats to the Bearcats...knew it would be close, but really thought Owen would win this one. Good win for W-V...

Owen didn't help themselves going 10-21 from the free throw line. I do agree with weakside - Osborne and Williams are going to be special players.

Owens bigs still dominated the glass, My guess would be doubling the rebounds of Walton. Burns was ineffective and I don't even know if he scored

Sounds like "The Little's" beat "The Big's". The guard play must have determined this game.

Don't know if I would call 35-30 rebound margin dominating. Burns didn't score but he was a factor on defense. He made Owen's players adjust shots. Part of the reason they shot around 30% for the game as a team.

Apparently you watched a different game than I did. Burns may not have scored but he, along with Reynolds and Monday, certainly affected Owen's bigs.

Could not agree more. Owen will be a force to reckoned with in the near future.
