They are losing a few very key seniors like Bowlin, Reynolds, Burns (I believe he was a senior), and especially Ponzer. They do have a few juniors who will make an impact but they definitely need to work hard over the summer and improve if they want to have a season like they did last year. Look for Sullivan to have a big senior year.

I expect McNeil to play a big role at WV this fall. I have seen several of his games with the Select this summer and he is a monster on the offensive end.

Is he the son of one of the asst. coaches?

Correct. Jeff is his dad. Conner '84.

I played at almost all of the WV open gyms last summer and went to a majority of their games last season and while he will hit the occasional open three, he was not much of a threat. Great kid and seems to work hard and he will definitly need to work very hard this summer to make an impact.

Isn't he scoring +20 per game for his AAU team this summer? Looked pretty good at the state tournament playing Soph's and Juniors.

Did the Tar Heels play 15U or 16U? I m pretty sure it was 15U.

15U

McNeil is a good player and has potential. Playing 15U is not the same as playing varsity ball. The older kids are more mature and stronger. Give him time to mature.

I agree he is a good player and he definitely does have potential. He has a very good 3 point shot but most of the time I saw him score was when he was pretty open. If he develops a better shot with some pressure on him he will score a bunch this year and they will need it losing alot of their big scorers from last season. This year will definitely help him mature alot as a ball player because he should get quite a bit of varsity time.

Can Walton Rebound will be a main concern. Wings should be able to score with shooters like Sullivan, McNeil and Hargett and look for Freshman Moeves to get Varsity minutes. Walton will need Monday to play very big this year and they will also need big things out of Brockman. The Junior and Sophomore classes are thin in numbers, especially if Cottrell doesn't play. Plus Burns (Freshman) transferring doesn't help.

Where is Burns going? Andy played at Walton in 81 and according to that recent film about SK is the guy who almost got them past SK in the districts?

Hopefully Highlands where his mom teaches. : )
