Gallatin County 49 Walton-Verona 39

The Wildcats led 34-33 without 6 minutes left, then converted a 3 point play and hit a 3 pointer on successive possessions to grab a 40-33 lead. WV never got closer than 5 points the rest of the way.

Just one of the sloppiest games i have seen in awhile by both teams. Mcneil was off big time looked like he had no legs short on all of his shoots, even free throws. I did realize why i got away from high school basketball four years ago tonight, the REFS man they are bad all the way around its crazy and sad that khsaa cant find better.

GC seems to have that killer instinct.

It seems that way the last two games. In the 4th quarter they outscored SK 24-8 and WV 17-7.

My team came out on the short end of the stick but I've got to say that Gallatin's D was the key to the game. I can't believe that they are as fast as they are. We will be ok once everyone starts playing together. Props to another well coached John Jones team.

Defense can be played well if you are physically and mentally tough! These are 2 traits that Coach Jones instills in his players. That is the difference in the 4th quarter, when you get a little tired can you dig down deep and find IT! His teams usually do and that is a credit to him!

Here is the box score from the game.

Jon Jones, in my mind, is the best 8th Region coach, hands down. He gets the most out of his players than any other coach, every year.

Hats off to Gallatin for this win over Walton & SK.

Agreed. Gallatin seems to much tougher mentally and physically than WV at this point. Quite frankly, it's not even close.

If its not even close and WV stayed in the game until about 6 minutes left, WV will be okay.

I'm almost positive WV played 12 players as well, if someone could clarify that for me.

I think they will be ok also. But, the mental toughness gap not close at this point.

Agreed. Also, every game I've watched them play, when the 4th quarter starts, their offense goes completely down the drain.

Mcneil was out of it in this game. He shot 2 for 12. Too many unforced mistakes and WV is not sharing the basketball. It's early... hopefully they will fix the offense by the All A.
