Anybody know what excatly happened at Pulaski SW this past weekend with Madison Central vs. Lincoln Co game? I heard that Ashton Feldhaus was ejected and then Coach Cooksey took his team off of the floor. This happened early in the game from what I hear. If so, will Feldhaus have to sit any games and will Cooksey be penalized?

Heard Feldhaus got thrown out for a hard foul on Emily Fox. Coach went nuts and took his team and went home.

GRC plays Madison Central their first game, Nov 28th. We will see if Feldhaus plays.

She was called for a flagrant foul with an elbow to the chin on Fox. She was thrown out and according to khsaa rules will have to sit out 2 games. Not sure if any penalty to Cooksey, but there should be. The play was caught on film and it was obvious that the elbow was malicious. I agree the officiating was not the greatest I've ever seen, but this call was correct, ask Cooksey, he seen the film. All teams participating knew, as they have in the past that the 12th region officials association use this panorama to train younger officials. Hats off to this young man, he may have not gotton all calls right, but he nailed this one right on the spot.

Madison Centrals coaches were never told about the training of officials. You should never use jv officials in a varsity game, especially with two top twenty teams playing.

Why not? Preseason scrimmages are the perfect time for new officials to get some real game experience.

Totally agree. What difference does it make if the teams are top 20 or bottom 20? Does MC4 think that higher rankings rate better officials. Please keep into context that this was a scrimmage and the purpose is for teams to practice against someone other than their own team. Win or lose, it doesn't count for anything other than evaluating your team against an opponent. Also, great opportunity for younger officials to get some exposure in a less stressful situation and also be evaluated to see if they have what it takes to earn a few varsity games in the future. Madison Central behaved as though a regional title was at stake. Also, heard that MC coach recieved a technical in their first scrimmage. Any truth to that? If that is true, maybe anger management classes could be an option. To quote Alan Iverson, "Practice, its only practice" and so on.

Wouldn't be surprised if he got the same penalty for a coach being ejected, which I believe is 3 games this year. It's a pretty selfish move if you ask me, but doesn't surprise me at all.

The officials had no control from the get go. The game was very ROUGH from the tip! I think the main reason the coach pulled the team was a man from the stands in street clothes came onto the floor and told MC coach to be quite and calm down.......The man was an official who the assigning secretary had sent over to calm the situation down. Would it not make better sense to train officials with one veteran official and one rookie? I saw several flagarant fouls that day that nothing was done about.

Who was the man? There should be no reason for anyone other than a coach/official to ever come on to the floor.

Weakside....I'm not disagreeing with what you're saying but, if the scrimmages aren't sanctioned by the KHSAA, who has determined that you can only have 2 scrimmages and they can't last any longer than 3 hours. I've heard of this several times this year.

I saw a write up of Madison Central's win over George Rogers Clark and Feldhaus did not show up so I'm assuming she did not play. Whether that was a KHSAA penalty or a coaches decision I don't know. Cooksey apparently did coach the game.

Feldhaus is serving a manditory two game suspension per the KHSAA DQ page.
