As a Frankfort fan, this has become one of the most anticipated games of the regular season for me. Have had some pretty good games the past couple of years. I don't expect this one to disappoint. I voted for Frankfort in the poll, but I really don't know who to favor. Frankfort is playing well and should be focused this week. But I don't know if inexperience at many positions will come back to bite the Panthers. In some ways (passing game specifically), I think this year's team is better than last, but in other ways (overall athleticism and experience across all positions) not so much. What do the Ads fans expect from Danville this week? Gray and Simon still play for the Admirals - correct? Both have impressed me from last year. Should be a great atmosphere off the river on Halloween. Danville can win where ever, so I don't know if there's a huge homefield advantage for the Panthers.

I'm going to go with the home team. On homecoming. If the Dawgs can't get their first win tomorrow, then they never will.

As has been stated, in Frankfort, Franklin County high school is known as "County." Rarely have I heard it referred to as THE County. That's probably because there is also another county high school but it doesn't bear the County name. I.E. "Did County win their game last night?" All public high schools in Frankfort can be represented with just one word; County, High (or Frankfort), Hills. I would also assume this practice is more common in Kentucky as opposed to our surrounding states since KY is in the top 5 in number of counties (most having a small size). So one school can often service the entire county area. Where as others states not so much. is this true?

It's a better situation than two years ago, when you played a district game your final week, then played your district in the first two rounds of playoffs. Try playing the same team twice in back-to-back weeks. It happens though.

Well, I haven't seen Hills play, so I can't say for certain, but I did see the Frankfort/Spencer game, and I thought Spencer played very well. Have some quality players. Just couldn't put it through the end zone. Maybe it was just a problem of matchups. So I'm not surprised they beat Hills. But I guess the Curry ejection could have played a major role in that game like has been previously suggested. I always thought Curry was a good QB, but Western Hills hasn't been that great of a TEAM for his first two years, so his abilities didn't always get to shine. I have no idea who should be favored in this game. Hope it's a dandy.

I'm sure that is true from a coaching standpoint, but I know at least one player last year who wrote down goals of: 1. Win State 2. Win Region 3. Win District 4. Beat Danville 5. Beat County Anyway, back to Western Hills. Can anyone tell me at what point during the Spencer Co. game Curry was ejected?

I'm trying not to think that far ahead just yet, but it would be nice to see a Frankfort/Beechwood rematch in the playoffs again this year. Step One - seal up home field advantage through first two rounds (by winning district).

As they should be, but it is a point of interest for this game (being of the out-of-district variety).

This is a tough one to call. Hills is enjoying some unprecedented success right now. Common opponents doesn't help out much either.Western Hills beat Franklin County by 18 (28-10). Frankfort lost to Franklin County two weeks later by a touchdown in overtime (20-27). Frankfort won 25-7 against a tough Spencer County team. Western Hills lost to Spencer three weeks later in a close one (21-24). I think whoever plays mistake free football and executes their gameplan nearest to perfection will win. I'm going to say Frankfort pulls this one out to create a three way tie for the city championship. Frankfort 27 Western Hills 19

Yeah, I was going to say. How competitive is this district? Should be a good game between NO and Hills. Are we back to inter-district playoffs this year for the first two rounds? If not, the regular season district ranking could mean nothing for these teams.

Congrats to Hills on the win! What a season so far for those boys. If someone knows differently correct me, but wouldn't another win and a 6-win season for Hills be their best ever?

Yeah, ya know though... Everyone hates seeing games like that though. It becomes disinteresting for the Frankfort fans after the 3rd or 4th score, and probably goes sour for Bracken fans just as quick. So, I'm hoping for a closer game. It would be better for both teams, I believe.

Yeah, JARS, it had been fairly competive the last couple of years between Frankfort and Danville for District. Even in 06, we won regular season district but got the tables turned on us in the playoffs in the second round as Danville advanced and lost in the state championship (by 3 to NCC I believe). We'll see how the rest of the year fairs for this district. Frankfort's depth and youth are still an issue so I'm not willing to say they'll steamroll their way to the regional championship or anything yet.

Yes, it's a little harder to appreciate when your team loses, but this about sums it up. What a wild game fought to the end of regulation and into overtime. First overtime Frankfort has played in for at least 6 years I believe. Way to bounce back FCHS! Hang tough and you'll do well. The passing game for Frankfort is helping out tremendously when the run is getting stuffed. Great to see. Good game Panthers. Nothing to be ashamed of. There's always.. well next year.

Frankfort isn't next week. Frankfort is four weeks from now. Western Hills Schedule But I think Hills will win this one as well. I'll say 28 - 6.

My opinion. Field/court storming is fine.... if it's your own field.

How about that! Congrats to the WHHS coaches, players, and supporters. Great to see competiveness in all three city teams. Can't wait to see what Hills does in district play.

Danville's only been gone from the district for one year. So Frankfort skated through the district last year when they had 13 good seniors and a D-1 player and were a state semi-finalist. That doesn't mean we've exactly set a trend of steamrolling the district like the Danvilles, and Mayfields have. Frankfort's only game against a Class A team this year came down to the last 30 seconds. Let's not hand them the crown yet. We'll see what Gallatin is like tomorrow. Last year they drove the ball up and down the field on Frankfort but had problems getting in the endzone. Two games into the season, I'm not ready to write them off yet either.

Which is really the same in varsity. State Champ? Yeah, we won.

I know Western Hills is improved (thank goodness), but one win isn't enough to tell me that they will finally beat Franklin County. I'll take FC by three touchdowns. 35 - 13
