Franklin County 27 Frankfort 20 OT

Flyers score TD in OT, Panthers fumble on second play of OT, Flyers recover

The Flyers are coming around, I thought they had a lot of chances to hang thier heads but just kept playing. Thompson is getting back into form and the run game looked good as well. Good job Flyers FHS is a good team they will do well the rest of the year.

Looks as if Coach Ledford has got the boys in blue refocused.......

Congratulations Flyers! Coach Foley refused to shake hands with Coach Ledford after the game at centerfield. What a role model he is for the Frankfort team!!????? Was that just poor sportsmanship or was something else going on?

Foley thought that the Franklin County kids were supposed to line up after the win and not celebrate. Coach Ledford wanted his team to have some fun, it was not excessive or in the faces of the Panthers but it did take a while for the Flyers to line up. This happens about everytime the two teams play. Most of the kids and coaches ended up shaking hands and hugging after the game alot of these kids have played together at one time or another.

I thought Kerry Metcalf really played well and kept the Panthers in the game, he is a great kid and role model for all the kids in Frankfort. I also think Will Smith is a true Prospect at Defensive End.

Will Smith any relation to former Panther DE Josh Smith? I always thought Josh was an outstanding player.

:thumb:Congrats to the Flyers on there win Tonight. Thompson look better tonight as well Jeremy Gardner. Gardner came up with some big runs tonight. I think this is the best game I have seen this kid play. Congrats again on the win. :thumb:

Congrats to both teams tonight, this was a good battle between 2 solid teams. I am so proud of the way the Panthers battled all night. When adversity hit you didn’t quit. Fatigue and depth hurt the Panthers at some key times tonight. That is just part of the game.

Hats off to the Flyers, you guys bounced back and made plays when you needed them. Just continue to believe in your system and one another and good things will happen.

As for the game, both teams had plenty of chances. I thought both teams played a great defensive game. The Flyers did a good job of stuffing the run tonight. The Panthers had a chance in OT but missed the tight end running across the back of the end zone. Metcalfe did a good job of delivering the ball tonight. Keri keep your head up.

This game was lost in the weight room tonight. The Flyers d-line controlled the line of scrimmage.

As for the end of the game, please remember that both coaches had just got finished with one emotional battle. I am not sure what happened and I was in the middle of it all. So before anyone takes shots at either head coach please understand the environment and emotions.

Good Luck to both teams. Get focused and win your districts.

Both teams will move on to be good the rest of the year! I thought the Panthers passing game was very sound nice long ball and good play action. As for the coaches its football.... emotions and stuff is par for the course.

The line play from the Flyers was a surprise, 3 sophomores and 2 freshman played most of the night, another sophomore that would have started did not play. If these kids can get better and lift in the off-season they can be pretty special in a year or two.

Buckett, Like I said---great role model! Maybe you think kids from down south don't know what class is so they won't know the difference anyway. Got anymore excuses for his behavior on or off the field?

Why don't you address this to man himself instead fo trying to smear his good name on this thread, my friend. It sounds like to me he waited in due time for FC to come over, but they didn't and he went to address his team. He came back later to give the congrats after things calmed down. Let it go.

Good win for FC.I think the stuff after the game was a fluke.Coach Ledford and Coach Foley coached together at FC and both are emotional guys.Lots of frustration mounted in the last 2 weeks at FC and it is wrong to try to keep KIDS from celebrating a big win.Lots of the kids from these teams know each other and are good friends.Good luck to both teams the rest of the way.

Frankfort competing with 4A school on top of depth and injury my hat goes off to the Frankfort staff and player for not giving up. Dwight keep your head up baby your talented and you will get out of south Frankfort.

Celebrating after the game is all good... if your a player not as a coach. And the name calling was uncalled for.

Congrats to these young men on a solid effort.
