Who wins? I am going to make a bold prediction that this game is much closer than expected with Hills leading at halftime and County having to fight to leave with a victory.

 

Reasoning behind prediction:

Curry has worked hard in the off-season and looks very good. County players will think they can show up and walk all over Hills but this team is better than teams of the past. This Hills team believes they can win this game. Franklin County has issues with the passing game. The QB has been inaccurate with the long-ball so far this year and Hills will press them and stop the run / short-passing game like Lafayette did. The interceptions will cost County several possessions in this one and cost them field position as well. If Western Hills can give Curry time to throw, and force FC to look for 2nd and 3rd options in the passing game, they may win this one.

The Flyers will bounce back this week. Im taking the Flyers in this one 42-14!

Look for this one to be closer than expected. Hills D will make some turnovers. I'll take hill in a not so upset upset.

Laf is a very good team and is 6A. FC just played poorly, but they will be out for blood this week as I am sure Ledford will have a physical week for his team. County has dominated this series for a while and has way too many athletes by comparison to Hills. WH will fight, but it won't last long. FC 49-WH 10. Best of luck to both teams.

Ill take Franklin County by 14. This is what I like to call a "Fish Bowl Game." Everyone in town will be out watching this game, and for some reason that's about the only thing that has gotten Franklin Co. motivated the past few seasons.

Rule 13

Despite the loss FC "D" looked good last week.Coach Thompson will call his best game this week and will clean up last weeks mistakes.No goose eggs this week for the Flyers.Hills is much improved but the edge is still to the Flyers,but may be closer than past years.

Franklin County needed a wake up call. Hopefully last week was just that. They have a great coaching staff but the players don't seem like they want to work for anything. Hopefully their qb shows up this week. The OC has tried hard the past two weeks to give him easy plays to get going early, but it doesn't seem as if the light bulb has came on yet.Hopefully they can right the ship

I just watched both game films of FC and it looks like to me that they have abandoned their strengths. The run game should be established until teams put enough guys in the box to stop you and the passing game should be attacking its opponents with crossing routes and stretching the field deep. So far, all I have seen is 5 to 10 yard passes with an inaccurate qb and a running game that features one back getting all of the carries in one direction. If Hills will blitz the side away from the back, they'll stop the run. If Hills will force them to throw the ball quickly by pressuring the qb, he will make mental mistakes and inaccurate passes.

This team has great potential. Just still needing to come together, two rivalry games and Woodford the next few weeks they will find themselves. People talked the same way about them last year when they were in a dog fight with Waggener, lost to Lafayette, was down to Hills for a quarter, and down to Frankfort high for half the game but they got it together for a 9 win season.
