10 Good
  1. Six A Trinity Five A Highlands Four A UP for Grabs Three A Central Two A Fort Campbell One A Danville Six, Five and three A are repeats for certain. While Central and Fort Campbell have too many athletes for the competition. Small state with power concentrated in a few schools. Tradition Tradition Tradition. Hard to pick against proven winners year in and year out.:dancingpa
  2. The all state team represents the best players at their position. Its not a recruiting list for potential D1 talent. There is a difference between potential and demonstrated ability. Many D1 recruits never see an all state team
  3. Louisville by far. Population and tradition. Two powerhouses in X and T plus Male, Ballard, Central, Manual, Eastern etc. Not counting the up and coming Oldham County Schools. Louisville is a growing metropolitian city with a huge population of athletes. NKY football is good but I would have expected that Lexington would be in the mix somewhere. Nuff said
  4. He should be a Florida Gator since his Dad is an alumnus of the university.
  5. The proof is in the pudding regarding talent. Trinity and St X have dominated Kentucky Football since 1962. Check out the state championships won by these two schools during that time frame. Simply put they are the best two teams in this state by a HUGE margin. No one is even close. If thats the case then they have the best players as well. Typically the State Champion has several players on the team and this year Trinity only had one player. Opinions dont count however championships do. Outstanding players making great plays in clutch situations lead to championships. To me that defines an all state player. The best game in the state every year is the Trinity St X game and they play twice. Hard work, dedication and teamwork build character. I think Kentucky should be proud to have these two schools and these young men representing the commonwealth. My hat is off to both schools. Now lets give them some individual honors as well. However the state championship ring is enough of a prize for anyone
  6. I would think that St X and Trinity should dominate the ALL State Team. I would expect no less than 11 players from these schools would make the all state team. Anything less than that does not reflect the true caliber of these two giants. There are no other programs even close to these two giants. St X has three players and Trinity only 1. Trinity wins the state championship and only has one player on the AP all state first team. I don't have a clue what these voters are looking at. Trinity beats all teams in the State by at least four touchdowns with the exception of St X whom they beat in a rematch. Best talent in the state by far is Trinity
  7. Hate to say it but the cannon's gotta go. Few years ago I almost had a heart attack when hat cannon fired. I was not aware of the tradition. It was very intimidating and I can only imagine what our players thought at the time. Highlands plays in an odd setting with the stadium backing up against the school. Loads of tradition already there combine that with the cannon and its really an imposing force. I can understand why the Bluebirds want to keep it. However I cannot imagine how the school board will allow this now that this tragedy has occurred. Even if an injury occurs one in ten thousand shots its not worth it and you know an accident will occur sooner or later. Cannon's gotta go too dangerous
  8. My prediction is TRINITY 63 and SK 7 Trinity and ST X are in 7A and by far and away the best programs by FAR in the state of kentucky. The state championship game was played last week when Trinity upset St X. There is no doubt Kentucky has two of the finest football programs in the country in St X and Trinity Trinity routs Simon Kenton and demonstrates Louisville area's dominance in big boy football If this were a college game there would be a no liner.
  9. I have lived in seven different southern states in the USA and have never yet seen such a dominance in a sport as is found here in the Commonwealth of Kentucky regarding St. Xaiver and Trinity High Schools in football. At one time there were other teams that could challenge Trinity or St X for the title but now it seems there is no one close to doing that. If you look at the scores of the games of these teams with other 6 A schools other than themselves the scores are not even close. The last time Trinity was challenged was Brohms senior year in HS and he lost to Seneca and Manual but beat St X in the reg season and the title game. Although Belfry and Central dominate three A, and Highlands 5 A there are no other programs close to the dominance of Trinity or St X. The enrollment of these schools are not enormous but they seem to generate a tremendous amount of football players. There is not a significant number of D1 candidates from either of these programs but yet they dominate. I dont know why they are so dominate but they are. Its not even close. Its like two college teams playing high school teams. What is the secret? Someone should write a book on these two. These two giants are way beyond any other team in this state. They should be playing Upper Level Ohio, Florida, Texas, California , Georgia and Alabama teams. I would like to see both of these teams schedule some big name teams from outside the State consistently other than the Cincy Catholic teams.
  10. 56 to 0 Cobble, Ridge and crew way too much. Central on its way to a rematch with Belfry at PJS
  11. With the loss of Gohman and a banged up QB at ETown I predict a Central romp. Central should have all their studs back in for this game and has had an easier route to the regional final as compared to ETOWN. ETOWN has a great passing attack but needs number 84. Central has more athletes and has the state crown on their head. I don't see Central being challenged until the championship game against Belfry. Central wins big 42 to 14
  12. I believe NOHS has the kids in the middle schools but are losing some to the private school. I think the kids would be better served playing on a NOHS team rather than sitting on the bench at the high end private schools. I think the current economic crisis might benefit OC schools since that ten thousand dollar per year tution might become uneconomically feasible during this depression slash recession especially should Ford file bankruptcy. Save that money for college and get an equal or better education in the OC school system especially at NOHS which has an outstanding academic program second to none in the state of Kentucky.
