Elizabethtown 42 North Oldham 28

Well the season ended for the Mustangs last night in Goshen. The final score does not reflect just how close this game really was. With 4 minutes to go, North was down by only 7 points and drove the ball inside the 20 of Etown. With 2 minutes to go, Maddox was intercepted. Both teams played a hard game. North should be congratulated for their efforts. Coach Martin and staff have built a program at North to be proud of. This group of seniors have seen it all. Every player played with heart tonight. The quarterback for Etown is for real. His quick release was something to watch. That young man will be playing on Saturdays and I look to Etown to surprise Central in the next round. To this class of seniors and their parents, you brought pride back to this school and this football program. As a parent of a senior player, I couldn't be more proud. The scoreboard doesn't reflect the heart of this team. I wouldn't have changed a thing this year. You all left it all on the field until the final whistle blew--you couldn't have asked for more. I look forward to watching what Coach Martin and staff will do next season.

How do you think North Oldham will be next year?

Not a shocker here. E-town has been very solid

Both teams were solid, bottom line it came down to turnovers. NO 4 resulted in 4 TD's - E-town 2 resulted in 2 Td's special teams scored one each, difference 14pts and 2 turnovers! I was impressed with the athletes of E-town but I think the best football player(Not Athlete) on the field was #30 Andrew Tuller. He held Gohman to about 3 catches, and had about 266 all-purpose yards for NO. The Qb for E-town also showed some real heart, NO pounded him and he kept on coming back, curious to see if he and Gohman are able to play next week. #6 North VS #7 E-town lived up to the hype, it was a great game. Those Seniors for NO should be proud they worked really hard to put this program another step forward that the 8-4 07 team had set.

E-town and Central should be a good one if Gohman is able to play.

Was a great year- although I was a little disappointed with the crowd, school play and band compettition was held on same night as a football game. Not smart for $ and school spirit. Maybe people at NO are not used to playing playoff games and all the alumni are Seniors in college. Maybe this season will help wake the school and community up and rally the whole city of Goshen behind the school.

Consistent but still lacking major talent. Program has had 1 player go on to play college ball(Ryan Gallas Centre) they need to find more speed and athletes to match up with skill players of Central and E-town. Line play has been as good as anyone, kids are strong. Just limited on making big plays. North will miss 13 Seniors from this years team. They were really special and will be the first to tell you they did it with heart, strength and determination more so than god given talent. As a big fan of North, I was really proud of what they accomplished this year, and very easliy could still be undefeated and playing Central this week.

I believe NOHS has the kids in the middle schools but are losing some to the private school. I think the kids would be better served playing on a NOHS team rather than sitting on the bench at the high end private schools. I think the current economic crisis might benefit OC schools since that ten thousand dollar per year tution might become uneconomically feasible during this depression slash recession especially should Ford file bankruptcy. Save that money for college and get an equal or better education in the OC school system especially at NOHS which has an outstanding academic program second to none in the state of Kentucky.

Congrats on a great season NO and good win E'town.

Congrats to North on a tremendous season. Andrew Tuller was an amazing, unstoppable FORCE against E-town on Friday night... The Mustangs had the opportunities to win, despite missing starting FB Matt Alward, then losing backup FB Jakob Manor (who had 68 yards on 10 carries) in the third period... Impressive play by 3rd string FB Austin Peterson, who ran for 45 yards on just four carries... The Mustangs also lost one of the better prep placekickers in the state prior to the game when Paul Althoff broke his hand prior to kickoff...sophomore Luke Nolte did a fine job on kickoffs and connected on all four PATs...

Turnovers was the whole story...North had four TOs (3 INT and one Fumble), whereas Elizabethtown had a single turnover (INT) and also muffed a kickoff that North recovered.

Twice, North had the ball, leading 14-7. Once came right after Tyler Geer intercepted the E-town QB and North got the ball around the Panther 35...but a North pass was tipped by the receiver and intercepted to kill that threat. North later held on downs deep in their own territory, and worked the ball out to midfield where they fumbled it away...E-town took advantage of the second turnover and scored immediately before the half to tie the game at 14. That's how close the Mustangs were to actually blowing the game open in the first half. Score on both of those possessions and it's a 28-7 lead going into halftime...and who knows?

Neither team succeeding in stopping the other's primary attack all night. E-town passed for over 300 yards; North rushed for over 300 yards, despite the injuries...

On the other hand, neither team was successful otherwise; North's passing game was pretty much non-existent, and Elizabethtown never really got anything going on the ground of significance.

Trevor Deneen was the star for E-town - 9 catches for over 100 yards - as the Mustangs pretty much took Gohmann out of the passing game. He did have three catches, but Gohmann's big contribution of the night was a 67 yard punt return for a TD that got the game going...he's quite a talent!!!

Congrats to the Panthers on a great game and best of luck next week...

To the Mustangs - kudos on setting a new standard at North Oldham. You have set the benchmark for future Mustangs to aspire to.
