  1. Was it the dive? I thought he came out after a play where he had a couple defenders on him and he spun and twisted his leg. Question is, will Louisville stay committed to him after this injury?
  2. I think Frankfort should still be good enough to win the district with their other running backs: Leach, Mason, Morgan, Dunmire, Washington. There's still lots of talent left on the team... but not Quan Weaver-type talent. How deep they will make it in the playoffs now probably depends on how well the team comes together to move past these string of injuries that have plagued the team. The team's resilience will definitely be tested. Will they hang their heads and give up on their goal of making a trip to Bowling Green, or will they rise to the occasion and become a TEAM to be reckoned with? RESILIENCE 1 : the capability of a strained body to recover its size and shape after deformation caused especially by compressive stress 2 : an ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change
  3. Per the State Journal... http://www.state-journal.com/news/article/4660671 Waiting on a second opinion, but initial medical opinion says Louisville commit Quan Weaver is out for the rest of his senior season.
  4. That's what I was thinking. Except the BGP rankings have them (Frankfort) at #2 this week. I know it was only a scrimmage, and at the end of the season the Panthers might be able to give them a good game, but at this point, if Frankfort is the 2nd best team, then LCA is heads and shoulders above the rest of the Class A competition. Beechwood's ranking will probably suffer early season with the brutal schedule they have, but you gotta believe that they are as good as or better than Mayfield, Frankfort, and LCA.
  5. Sloppy play by FHS. No reason the score shouldn't have been much more than 22-0 at halftime. Frankfort has a lot of work to do. If they had been playing a top ten team, Frankfort probably would have lost.
  6. Danville is definitely tough to win against at home. I say: Danville 28 Franklin Co. 6
  7. Size matters just like every other factor... Tradition, community involvement, commitment, etc. EVERYTHING MATTERS. How much each factor matters is relative to each situation. There are hundreds and thousands of variables. They all matter and effect each other.
  8. Frankfort got handled by LCA. I haven't seen Beechwood yet, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to see LCA win the State Championship. Right now BGP has Frankfort ranked #3 in the state behind Lexington Christian. If that is true, right now there is a huge gap between the top two teams and everyone else.
  9. Hope everyone can come out tonight! Could be a preview of a possible State Championship game.
  10. LCA is the overwhelming favorite in 1A? I guess we'll have to see how the season plays out. I know Beechwood lost some very talented players, but I'm not about to doubt them and say they aren't still the top dog.
  11. Who are the coaches on the Frankfort team this year?
  12. Looks like the Hensley ratings are predicting rematches for the state titles in 1A - 3A.
  13. That's the story. Game was fairly close until the fourth. Costly fumbles by the Panthers that the Tigers capitalized on. Game won on the line of scrimmage. Congrats to both teams.
  14. Why, in football, do we say teams must deserve their spot in the playoffs when in almost all other high school sports, every team makes the playoffs regardless? Every team makes the playoffs, the ones that don't deserve to advance don't. I say innocent until proven guilty, not guilty until proven innocent. Look at Simon Kenton this year. A four seed makes it to the third round. Let the kids play.
  15. This is region 2 this year, so the even region hosts on even years. The winner of this game will host the winner of the Mayfield/Crittenden Co. game in the semi-finals. :thumb:
  16. I doubt the feeling on this board relates to the feeling in the locker rooms and practice fields. I'm sure the Tigers will be focused. I think the Frankfort folks are biting our tongues because we know Beechwood should be favored and don't want to gorge ourselves on humble pie after the game, should we lose. Keri Metcalfe has done a great job filling in for E.J. Fields at quarterback this year. Frankfort has developed a decent enough passing game. Dwight Tillman has impressed as a deep threat receiver. And by now, we've all heard about Quan Weaver running the ball.
  17. While the focus is going to be on Quan, I think that same statement applies for the TEAM. This will be the best team Frankfort has played all year. The Frankfort line will be tested. The backs will be tested. The coaches will be tested. It will take top effort, perfect execution, a lot of heart, and maybe a little luck to win this one.
  18. I respect Beechwood as well, and they've got to be the favorite in this game. I think the winner has to: 1 Play mistake free 2 Control the line of scrimmage Who will make less mistakes is hard to predict. Who has a bigger, stronger, more experienced line is generally a matter of fact. That being said, I think you have to give the advantage to the Tigers. Good luck Frankfort! No matter how cold, we'll be out there cheering for you! Also, Beechwood, hope you have a nice Thanksgiving dinner. Be sure to get plenty of turkey! :thumb:
  19. 69 points against Williamsburg? Wow. That's got to be an offense to be reckoned with. Congrats to LCA. Great season for Wburg. You all should be proud!
  20. I sure hope it will be electric, but maybe not if it's another cold day like today. Seemed to keep a lot of people away. Hope the whole community comes out to support the Frankfort boys. Congrats to Gallatin on a great season. Amazing what they've done in so short a time (especially this year with so few players, only six suited up on the sideline).
