Coach Rains takes his LCA Eagles down to play Williamsburg, where Paul Rains played as a high school player. Paul's son, Austin, will be on the same field his father played on.

LCA 28-10

Could a Mod a poll, please?

(I had a Brain-fart...)

I am not going to make a prediction. But I do think this is the best playoff game in the state this week. LCA has a ton of talent and trying to make it back to Louisville. The have a offense that puts up a lot of points. But I think Williamsburg is good enough to win the east. They have a huge O-line and a very good QB. Williamsburg offense is also solid. I look for this game to be a high scoring shootout. It will come down to who doesn't make many mistakes.

I think this game will come down to who has the ball last.

Williamsburg is ready to make the step to become one of Class A's elite programs. they do that is win this game and win next week. They can do it, but I don't know if they will. They've been on the verge of greatness since 2004 and maybe this is the year they finally get over the hump.

I think Williamsburg will hang in there early, but they are facing a stronger, faster, more athletic version of themselves.

LCA has some size on the line, too.

QB spot is almost even, RB is in favor of LCA.

W'burg has 2 good receivers, LCA has at least 5.

I have got to see both of these teams play in the same weather and field conditins, almost exactly, and LCA has team speed that I have not seen since we played Beechwood in 2003. IMO Hazard is 7 points better than Williamsburg on a given night, Williamsburg is 14 points better than us on a given night, and LCA destroyed both Hazard and LC. LCA has a better Defense than any we face this year. They contain the run better than I expected and swarm the ball well. Williamsburg has some players, just not the athletes, to compete fo the long haul with LCA. They face what Hazard and LC got the last 2 weeks because of it.

Austin Rains will enjoy his trip to Williamsburg and Coach Rains will win on his old field once more:

LCA 49

Williamsburg 20

Got to go with our district on this one

LCA by 2 TD's

Our district made a strong showing Friday night with 3 of 4 teams making it to round 2

Could a Mod a poll, please?

Anything for you Bluto.

LCA was a much more physical team than I expected, also. I expected a lot of finesse, which was there, but it was always started or followed with a punch in the mouth. They hit you on the line and then #30 kills you when you are tryig to stop him. Based on the defense I have seen in the Williamsburg games this year, they may slow but will not stop LCA. I guess if I had to pick the breaking point in this game coming up, it will be the Jackets D. It was better than ours this year, but not a world of difference, and look what they did to us.

Havent had the chance to see Williamsburg play but from what I've heard and read they have a solid team. However I have seen the Eagles play and have played against them myself back in the day, lol. I like LCA to move on and face the Rams in round 3, which should be another great game between the two schools. Williamsburg will be able to put up some points against LCA's D but I dont see them beating the Eagles in a shootout.

LCA 40

Williamsburg 28

I still think Stan Lovitt will pick WHS to win on the radio show thursday.....:D

IF WHS wins next week they have to have the best defensive performance of the year. They can not afford many mistakes on offense either. This has to be the best football the Jackets have played this year for them to win.

Dead on, Chant.:thumb:

This is a very dangerous team that W'burg is facing. Give them an inch, they take a mile. If you give them breaks, this one is over very fast. They are efficient with their possesions. I swear it was 40 to nothing before I really could grasp what was going on. Williamsburg had better play better defense than they have played all year and come up with a way to stop the RB and QB, plus control their receivers, or this game is over before LCA leaves Lexington, IMO.

I plan on coming up to the game, but I really feel that Williamsburg's best efforts may come up short. After seeing where LCA is this year and watching our district play, I can see no compairison at all.

I can't tell you if he could or not, but Junior did......
