I personally can't wait to see Bracken Co. play. As a former player and retired coach it's always nice to hear of a team that hasn't been very good, getting things on the right track and turning around their program. Win or lose, this week, I would say that this season is still a success for the Polar Bears and Coach Siple. Definitely a building block for the future!

The stadium was very out dated. I remember the one locker room looked like it was out of the 1940s. The fans were very rude and less than welcoming. However, the field itself was in pretty good shape. I just think they need to make some major upgrades and changes to the stadium. I also remember a couple of years ago, hearing that the Frankfort press box staff was making it extremely difficult for Bellevue coaches to get on top of the pressbox and for them to come down.

IMO, the day after Pitt and Syracuse announced that they were leaving the Big East, UofL and UC both should have paid the $5M (at the time) and gotten out of the conference. They should have applied to the Big 12, SEC, or the Big 10. With Pitt and Syracuse gone, the quality of football, which wasn't extremely high to begin with, dropped off significantly. The move also effects the quality of basketball in the conference. I think it is mainly Jurich and the President of the University faults. Even before the departures of Syracuse and Pitt, they should have had some type of contingency plan since it is now the "cool thing to do" to be conference jumping. Epic fail on their end!!

I think Eminence will squeak this one out. But good luck to the Panthers!

I'll go with Frankfot by 3 TD's. However, I would like to see Dayton win this game therefore no other team has to travel to Frankfort's field (one of the worst I have ever been to).

When a school wins the mythical national championship, do they actually receive any type of trophy, banner, ring, etc? Just curious because I have no idea how that works.

Congratulations to the players and coaches at Trinity. I haven't seen them play this year, but what a great accomplishment.

Bellevue will pull this one out. I think this will be a closer game than any Bellevue/Bracken in the past, but I think that the Tigers playoff experience will help them in this one. Bellevue 24 Bracken 16

I'm sure 6-4 isn't the season the Tigers had wanted, but I am sure they will take it. It very easily could have been a 7-3 season (with a few things going their way in the Carroll Co. game). Good job this season to both the Juggs and Tigers.

I'm tired of seeing Beechwood and Mayfield win the 1A state title. So I will be rooting for every 1A team from #3 on down!!

Comparatively Bellevue wins just about as much as Jimmie Johnson...while Dayton wins about as often as Earnhardt Jr.

This could be a very good game. Lloyd seems to be a pretty good team this year and Bellevue is also pretty good. A lot of different factors in this game, it's the week before the playoffs for both schools, Lloyd Senior Night, Coach Shearer (former BHS head coach) is coaching at Lloyd, and Bellevue's tendency to cause turnovers. I am going with Bellevue in this one. Bellevue 22 Lloyd 18

Who will Owen play in the first round of the playoffs?

Maybe that grant money can buy the district a few bags of sakrete concrete to fix that stadium up a little bit and at least make it presentable.

I, myself am not a UK fan. But I do know quite a few die hard fans. I was just curious how everyone else felt, because I remember a few years after Tubby's championship, these same people were complaining about him and how he wasn't winning championshps, etc. I also that these are just my local NKY friends and in the grand scheme of things their opinions do not really matter about this. But like I said just curious what everyone else thought and it seems like everyone (at least most BGPers feel the same way about him) GO CARDS!!

You always hate to hear of an injury, especially if it is a season ending one. If it is definitely broken, I am sure he will be out the rest of this season. I have seen Beechwood play, but I wonder how much this injury will effect the outcome of their playoff game with Mayfield (that is if they get that far, which IMO they will.)

With this being Coach Cal's third year and with all the talent that he has had in the last two years and failing to win a National Championship, the Wildcats are pre-season #2 and according to many have to be a favorite to win the National Championship this year. If Coach Cal fails to win a National Championship this year, will the AD and Big Blue Nation start calling for Cal's head. :idunno:

Sounds like Nick Rice may need to leave Newport and go back to Dayton to rescuing the sinking ship otherwise known as their football program.

From what I have heard over the past couple of years on the streets in Bellevue is that Wayne Starnes has either 1-2 years left as Superintendent of Bellevue. Mr. Ridder (the assistant Superintendent) will likely be the replacement for Starnes. However, I know that there is an opportunity for Ridder to be the Superintendent in Dayton too. So, it will be a difficult decision for him to make if both of these rumors are true.
