Is that because they had a third team and triple the number of honorable mentions? How much different or better are the first and second team.

 

I think, across the board, this team is more representative of where the players selected should be. Sure, we could debate some, but I think this list has the players that should be there, in the proper place (1st team, 2nd team, HM). The AP Team always has some "Headshakers" that just don't make sense.

I notice that Ryan Timmons from Franklin County made 1st team. Congrats to him!! In the AP team announced a couple of weeks ago he was nowhere to be found. Hope including him means this was is a better overall list......however they also list Zach Bowman from Franklin County as Honorable Mention at the QB position. Zach was backup QB this year to Logan Woodside.....

One player I didn't see on here was Max Nussbaum of Beechwood. I thought he was one of the more outstanding players I saw all season. He was a true warrior who deserved a spot somewhere on this list.

Soon. The All BGP Team recognizes the Top 12 Offensive Players, the Top 12 Defensive Players, and the Top 12 Athletes, from around the state, for a total of 36 players. This year the selection process is much more difficult due to some great talent around the state. The All BGP Team is almost compete and will be released very soon. Stay tuned.

On the C-J team, I remembering reading that HHS QB Patrick Towles was 7th in overall voting. Isn't that kind of low for a player of his caliber?

Highlands stopped Jude, but struggled to get Wickware on the ground despite getting to him. I saw no comparison between these 2 players. Talkers was honorable mention amd a 5' 7" soph was one of the kickers chosen. Must have put every kick in the end zone, because Talkers surley put nearly every one there and most were 8 yards deep.

Belfry goes to the 3A finals, almost upsets the highly ranked Central and only gets one player mentioned in the entire first, second, and third team selections....you've got to be kidding me....wonder how they got as far as they did???????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The theme of this thread seems to be confusion about the votes so it fits with the rest. Still haven't heard how a backup quarterback makes honorable mention.

There are always going to be oversights and/or differences of opinion on these teams. Congrats to those recognized and disappointed to see some omitted. As mentioned by others above, Carter New of Highlands and Max Nussbaum of Beechwood both should be mentioned somewhere. Another one that comes to mind for me is Brady Reese, DB at Covington Catholic. I am sure there are others.

Of the players I know on the list, who are mostly N. Ky., they are all deserving of recognition. I don't see anyone who clearly should not be on the list.
