Until a team from the west beats Highlands, I don't believe you'll find a HHS fan who will agree any team from out there is better. And wins that came before the two platoon era at Highlands, right or wrong, dont count.

 

I don't think you'll find a Highlands fan that believes ANYONE outside of Trinity is better than them, and that's a maybe. I think CovCath is the only other one they even truly worry about.

I don't see anybody bragging , Just stating their opinion , no harm done. When was the last time BG played Elder , or for that matter Cincy X ? While I'm at it , did they ever srimmage Trinity ? HHS starting QB played one series in the Elder game due to injury.

I am not here to take up for anyone one way or another just posting a comment regarding the win. I will agree with you though with the opponents in the title games. FS was much better than Anderson County.

If Dixie does, in fact, drop next year, that would present an opening in the HHS schedule. If not, or the weeks don't match up, 2013 would present some opportunities.

Speaking of neutral site games, what ever happened to some of the early season Bowl type games? I remember Highlands played Trinity one time at Mt. Sterling in a bowl there. Then there used to be the St. Luke's Champions Bowl in NKy. Maybe they are still going on and I am just not as familiar since Highlands isn't playing in them. Did corporate sponsorship money dry up? Or have they been replaced by some of the larger, national coverage type of games, like the Herbstreit games?

 

I appreciate all of the passionate fans discussion on this topic, but again, I think the only thing that truly matters to both sets of coaches and players is the State Title both teams won yesterday! To this Highlands fan, you can put us #2, #3, or #10, the excitement comes from watching those boys hoisting the trophy above their heads last night! They didn't care where they were ranked...they were State Champions again! Congrats to both teams! Maybe something can be worked out for next year, and only then, can we have a "final and definitive word" on this topic.

It still wouldn't definitely answer who was better this year. And I said that the winner of the hypothetical match up between BG/Highlands is all speculation anyways. Well, until the tapes were checked by qualified experts.

Fact of the matter is this. You can't tell Highlands fans anything and when you say they aren't the best they question your credibility and football acumen so for all of you who think BG is better than Highlands I will tell you that you may be right but your opinion doesn't matter because you aren't properly qualified to say such things. If you haven't checked the tapes then you better go check them. It doesn't matter that BG completely destroyed their competition because we all know that Franklin-Simpson was way way better than Anderson County and had Highlands had played Anderson County they would have beaten them 63-0 and would have had the freshman team start taking knees with 7 minutes left in the game because Dale is a classy coach who would never run the score up. Us BG fans can't run around believing that you are better than Highlands THIS YEAR because you never will be until you beat them and since you won't schedule them....then well......learn to live with your little brother typical team from the west status. It's what we are. And there are tapes to prove it.

After watching the Highlands/Franklin Simpson game, I question Leathernecks film evaluation. Highlands has a very good team with an unbelievable talent at QB, but I did not see what he perceives to be dominate line play by Highlands.
