How about we all agree that a BG-HHS game would have been great this year, and congrats to both teams for going 15-0 and winning state titles!!! I know I was pulling for both BG and HHS all year long and I suspect a lot of other HHS fans were as well!

For the record, I was very impressed with BG on Saturday night and said so over the air. First time I got to see them live. Very nice football team. Congrats to Coach Wallace and the Purples. I was very happy for PurpleHaze and Mrs. PurpleHaze.

And I sincerely do. Have been and remain a big fan of the BG program. I've got way too many connections with the BG program to disrespect them. In addition to the Haze family, there are the Burts, the Beards, the Begleys, etc. Great people. Great town. Great program.

And how nice was it for BG to open up their field house to us the past couple years as a place to rest, eat, watch a little film & get mentally prepared for the state games. They obviously had need for it themselves this year, but were very gracious hosts for two years prior. Thanks again BG, and congrats on your 2011 title!

These threads are like clockwork and pop up every year after the finals. It's great debate and for those of us who don't really follow basketball and baseball closely, it get's us through to summer. If it weren't for hypotheticals we would have a loooooong 8 months.

BG plays Trinity. St X this year and T the last 3 yrs and X before that. Last year T won 14-12. BG has almost the exact same team from last year just better.

BG declined to play T this year - T wanted the game. As for last year's affair when T used their #4 QB (actually a WR), well, T was happy to just get away with a win. So with that carrying no weight whatsoever, I still think BG is better than HHS by a hair, and would win 6 out of 10 times on a neutral field (and no, WKU is not a nuetral field)

And Boyle had 4 signature wins that year. Were any of them as good as Cincy St. X? Probably not. But considering how all the teams finished their seasons I'd call Johnson Central, LexCath(twice) Bell County and Lone Oak all signature wins. LexCath, Bell County and Lone Oak all stayed in the top 20 overall in the state that year and Bell County and Lone Oak were in the top 10 overall in the state pretty much all year. I'd think those would qualify as signature wins. I also think the only other teams to beat Johnson Central that year were Bell County and Highlands.

Highlands D1 QB (Bardo) had a season ending injury and missed most of the season. His replacement was (you may have heard of him) Patrick Towles. Patrick had no varsity experience at that time and he wasn't 6'6 and 230 lbs at that time either .
