Saying Dalton is better than Palmer and Green is better than Ocho is absurd, as neither has played a down in the NFL; but keep up that line of thinking too, and Mikey will keep sucking your money from you?? While I love some of the young receivers (Shipley in particular), and hope to heck you're correct on these statements, history isn't on your side? Zimmer had the "D" showing signs of being competitive and then Brown guts it by letting his best defensive player go, and bringing in his continuing parade of average/poor D-linemen--Hopefully this group of younguns turns this tide?? This team needs a total makeover starting with the owner & head coach. Brown's ineptitude speaks for itself, and Marvin's only back because he's got nowhere else to go. Zimmer's competent and who knows about Gruden, but his pedigree shows hope. It's obvious to me you have not seen much of A.J. Green. He will be a much better player than Chad Johnson could ever dream about. Johnson was a 2nd round pick and in his rookie season he caught 28 passes for 329 yards and 1 TD. Green will shatter those numbers. Green is better than Johnson in every department. He is a freak athlete and a much harder worker. July 31, 201115 yr Everyone knew that if Chad stayed with the team, it would only make it harder to develop Dalton and Green. I do think Green has the chance to be better than Chad ever was, but I won't decide on that until at least a few years from now.
July 31, 201115 yr Author A.J. Green has the talent to be better than Chad. Will he have the work ethic Chad had that made him the Bengals #1 receiver of all time? That will determine whether he ever gets to say he was better than Chad. I think Chad could have helped Green but I understand why the Bengals moved him, especially if they want Green to take Chad's slot in the offense.

There are a lot of talented kids that come out of college and can't handle the fact that they now have a pocket full of money. Let's see how he handles that part of it and we can go from there.

Until he at least catches a pass in the NFL, much less has a very strong ten year (and counting) career like Ocho; I'll stand by my statement that comparison at this point is absurd--Hope you're right; but let's see in ten years. PS: See David Verser, Carl Pickens, Peter Warrick, etc. in Bengal history. Also remember Akili & Klingler (who came in with more hype, college records and "upside" than Dalton--Again, hope you're correct!

That is why I posted these things to show that people need to look at the whole picture and just not how it ended. Palmer and Chad did very well in their careers here, so its silly for someone to say that Dalton and Green are better than them. Not pointing this at you, merely using your points to confirm my own that these draft picks, while full of potential, haven't done squat in the NFL; much less been top flight NFL pros for many years as OTHERS on here have said!! In Bengal land there's been a lot more David Klinglers, Big Daddy Wilkersons, and Pete Kochs (looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane) than great first rounders. People right now remember how things ended with Palmer and Chad, when that is wrong. These guys were very good football players in a bad organization. They were able to overcome that and still do well, which is hard to do.

Especially Charles Rodgers he was a complete stud in college like Green, and he couldn't do it in the NFL. Plenty of guys have the talent, it doens't mean they will get it done in the NFL. Shoot even Keyshawn Johnson who was the #1 pick, ended up not being as good as Chad was. Chad has his side shows, but Chad up until his last couple years when he lost his focus, Chad had produced. By the way you need to stop looking at how Chad ended his career here, when it comes to Green working harder than him. Up until probably the 2008 season, Chad might have been the hardest working WR in the NFL when his focus was on football. He would stay the night at the stadium, and tried anything he could do to be the best. Which when he was doing that, it wasn't coincidence that he led the AFC in receiving yards for 4 straight year which I believe is a record in the AFC. It wasn't until the last 3 years when Chad's focus started to go away. To say that Green will be a harder worker is way off too, because it will be hard to work harder than Chad did for his first 7 years in the league. Don't get me wrong I hope these things happen like you say. However both Dalton and Green have a long way to go to do as well as Palmer and Chad for their whole time here, and not just this last year.
