If this trend continues, I believe Mikey & Co. might have actually shocked me with his incompetence?? While the good teams are getting better with creative deals, the middle of the road/up & coming teams are improving, our leader signs a couple of Raiders and lets arguably his best player leave, gets two throw away picks for a receiver who a short time ago could have brought two first rounders, and sits on a quality QB with teams out there salivating for QB's to prove a point. Guessing he'll complete the deal and let Benson go and find another thug to take his place!! He's solidifying his #122 ranking every day!!

So you believe that the Bengals was a top 30 franchise just 5 years ago? If you want to go by these rankings, then these same rankings had this same Bengals organization ranked really high. It all just goes basically by how the team did that year when the vote is basically taking place. Look at Reds the Reds were even behind the Bengals back then too, and ranked poorly. The Reds have their first good year in years, and all of a sudden they are considered having a very good organization again. So unless you want to say the Bengals were one of the best 30 franchise's in all of sports 5 years ago, then you can't base things off these rankings.

Your premise is that if you are unhappy teams should always trade you and get whatever you can in return. Palmer is not great, but he is serviceable, that is difficult to find in the NFL. History shows that teams normally do not improve by dumping their best players in return for two other ones. 1 + 1 does not equal 2 in trades. There are 3 scenarios that could take place. Palmer comes back and plays. Palmer stays retired. Palmer is traded. For as bad as Brown is, why would you want to invest more trust in the man to try and get any sort of value?

Totally agree, but the "he" in this case (Palmer) had no choice which team he could play for, if he wanted to play professional football in the US. Do you really think anyone would choose to play for this team if they had an option??

No they do not, but Palmer signed an extension after being in Cincy for a few years. He is not under his rookie contract.

I disagree. Mike Brown knows what he is doing and he knows it doesn't matter because he is going to make money either way. That's why he spent as little as he could to field a team that is good enough to keep the fans coming back for more. I think some of his intentions are good but he is to ignorant and stupid from a football stance. He is a stubborn old man who it's going to admit he sucks at being a GM.

CP cashed the checks didn't he? He could of pulled a John Elway or Eli Manning and refused to play, right? But he got what he wanted, a long term deal full of security. To the contrary, Mike Brown is actually a very competent business owner, his franchise is worth nearly a billion dollars and is very profitable. I do agree that he could use some help in the on field personnel department however.
