Johnson was a 2nd round pick and in his rookie season he caught 28 passes for 329 yards and 1 TD. Green will shatter those numbers. Green is better than Johnson in every department. He is a freak athlete and a much harder worker. This guy also does not bring the Barnum and Bailey Circus with him everywhere he goes either. He just gets it done on the field. That's the crack scouting staff Mike employs--You can meet them all at the family reunion. This is what I love, people talking about how Mike Brown makes terrible decisions and bad judge of talent. Yet people always want him to try to trade players who have produced, to try to get draft picks. Which that makes no sense, because if he is a terrible judge of talent. Why do you think he will find someone better?

Very little show boating if any at all. I love it. Agreed HT, another impressive thing about A.J. was a bit I read about his legendary high school coach talking about him. His coach was John McKissick (winningest coach in high school football) who has been coaching since 1952 at Summervile, SC and has won 10 state titles and more than 550 games. Below is what Coach McKissick had to say about A.J.: “We’ve had some pretty good ones here over the years,” McKissick said. “A.J. might be the best all around as far as running, catching and blocking as a wide receiver, just a natural born athlete. You could tell it when he was in 8th grade.” McKissick said Green is such a good athlete that he could have played basketball in college. In addition to abundant natural talent, he has a great attitude and works hard, McKissick said. “He’d do anything in practice that he’d do in a game. I think that’s what makes him so good,” the coach said. I am really looking forward to watching this young player perform.

Why do you think he will find someone better? What are you talking about? He does stink at judging talent, and in no small part due to his lack of a big league scouting staff. He also consistently thinks he can outsmart the rest of the league, by finding "projects" that have higher round talent, but are being passed on by other teams due to character issues; and pursues the same strategy in free agency. What he fails to realize is that more often than not, the reason these guys want to come here is to "collect a check" when few other offers exist, or other teams are insisting on "performance based" contracts (what a concept??). Regarding the bolded part, who ever calls for him to trade players "that have produced"?? If anything, he's been criticized for not keeping his better players (ie: JJoe), or waiting too long to commit and allowing their market value to go up & make them hard to afford?? Basically Mike stinks at most everything about running a successful (on the field) franchise except making money by bilking the public, who are so starved for a winner they drink the kool-aid every year and think "maybe this is the year"!! August 5, 201115 yr He did ask for a trade if the Pats were not going to give him the long term deal. That is why he tried to sit out the first 6 games, hoping the Pats would give in and trade him so he could get that long term deal. It was a power play by the player to try to get a long term deal, or to get traded so he could get that long term deal. However just like Mike Brown, Kraft didn't give in to his demand. He didn't trade him, and still did not give him his long term deal. So this owner you have talked about, has done the same thing as Mike Brown and didn't give in. Only difference is that Kraft does have a winning organization, so even though he would do the same kind of move he doesn't get torn up for it. He wanted either a bigger contract, or wanted traded if he did get it last year. He sat out games, to try to force the Pats to trade him so he could get that bigger contract. What happened? The Pats didn't give in, they didn't grant him the trade, and they didn't give him the big contract. By not trading him, they ended up getting one of the best guards in football for the last half of last season, and still have him this year. Just because he likes Kraft, doesn't change how things went. He liked Kraft, but he still wanted out if he didn't get the contract, and Kraft didn't give in. Even though him sitting out could have hurt the team last year, especially if he came back and didn't give it his all when he came back. Yet Kraft held strong and didn't trade him, and still hasn't given him the big contract. The only thing that has changed, is that Mankin's has decided not to do that to the team again this year and sit out. Kraft is a great owner, which we all agree on. However when it came down to it, he has done the samething as Brown has in that situation. Only thing different is Brown would have gotten killed here by fans, if he let a player sit out half of the season and didn't trade him or didn't give him the big contract he wanted.
August 5, 201115 yr If we are that bad at LB, why have we not signed Dianti Jones back? They really aren't that bad at linebacker now. They have signed Lawson, moved Rey to the middle where he belongs, signed Brandon Johnson back, and also Howard from Oakland. Then you still have Rivers, who will be back later on too. They are not really bad at LB now, they just need maybe another to add more depth. Which Jones probably would be to expensive for a backup role, or probably wouldn't want to play a back up role.
