The W-F sessions need to begin earlier, 10:30 and Noon and 4:30 and 6:00. Saturday can be something like 2:00 and 3:30. Championship begins at Noon Sunday. If your attending any of the games you are likely off work anyway so moving the times up doesn't hurt. OR just go back to the old Saturday Night Championship. As someone that's been attending every game for close to the last 10 years the new format is not only costlier but more exhausting. With the times I proposed people that are staying for the entire tournament would have their evenings more available to enjoy themselves. Also they wouldn't have to wait around for a 2:00 championship game on Sunday. I also believe that the NCAA Tournament didn't hurt the Sweet 16 as much as it may have helped it. This year there was nothing to watch on TV between sessions or in the evenings after the Sweet 16 games conlcuded. I think having the Sweet 16 during March Madness creates an awesome atmosphere in Lexington.

The difference is Listerman is no longer sitting on the sidelines. There is really no comparing this Bulldog team to the ones of the last few years. While the talent level still may be a little down Coach Carr does a fantastic job of playing to Holmes strengths. They are fast and athletic and the other teams will feel it this year.

Pouncy/Green for Holmes. I’d say Pouncy is more of the PG but they both handle the ball. I haven’t seen many games but Dixie’s PG has to be one of if not the best.

Holmes has a nice mix of talent. They are fast and relentless on D. Really impressed with Green and Pouncy, both are poised and very good players. Is Green new to the team, I’ve never heard much about him and he has to be one of the best guards in the region. Calloway is a huge spark off the bench with unlimited range and crazy athleticism. I love seeing the bulldogs posing a threat to teams once again.

Stamper and Maggie Jones is the PG. The are both really great players that have been contributing for a couple years now, still only Juniors. The other two names I'd say to watch for, without seeing them yet this year, is Webb and Vickers. Very surprised there are no game threads for the SK v Ryle game or the one this past saturday, given how SK is traditionally one of the top teams in the state.

How has SK done in their first two games? Seems like no one is posting game threads for their games.

Do you know the location and time of the Holmes v Western Hills scrimmage?

SK will be hungry as well. I’d say the region is certainly more wide open than it has been with Ally Niece departing after being the regions best player for the last several seasons. But the cupboard is far from bare in Independence. They still return arguably their second and third best players from last years championship squad.

SK will struggle without the leadership of Ally Niece. I think we became so spoiled with her play over the years that we fail to realize just how special she was. She was the ideal teammate, and made that team fire on all cylinders. Ally made the game easier for her teammates. You could really see what a spark she was when she came back late in the season last year and helped that team to another sweet 16 appearance with only one healthy leg. Not to make this post about the past but I can’t wait to see Ally represent the Pioneer Nation at the D1 level this year at NKU. It will be awesome to see her jersey retired along with the other great Pioneers in SK history. This SK team still has some solid pieces in Jones and Stamper along with a strong supporting cast. I believe Ally’s work ethic, leadership, and unselfish play has rubbed off on Jones and Stamper and that will be vital for those two to carry the torch and potentially win another regional title.

I attended every game of the sweet 16 this year and have been for many years now. Easiest way to get tickets down low is first find them on your phone then walk up to the window and tell them the exact tickets that you want. For example Section 11, Row W, Seats 1 and 2. We did this to avoid paying the online fees.

Wow! I knew they played those teams, just thought I’d act shocked for you. My post was in reference to Purple Reigns orginal post about the camels dominating NKY this year. Congrats to Campbell County on their district championship and NKAC Championship! It was a heck of a season for the purple and gold. Not trying to take anything away from them.

I feel like you undervaluing the contributions made by Jones, Stamper and Harmeyer. One could make the argument SK has more pieces than Ryle. SK is the more balanced team. Vickers has also stepped up her play.

Dominated the NKY exhibition circuit? I wonder if they’ll get selected for the NKY Postseason Invitational Tournament. If so Campbell would have to be the hands down favorite.

The SK answer to the Anderson 7-0 run was so clutch. Anderson showed great fight but SK showed even better resilience. Vickers was huge tonight.

Hard for Campbell County to win games when only one girl out of the big three produces numbers. Congrats to GRC, the avenged the earlier loss to the Camels when it mattered the most.

Someone sounds a little salty, take your parental blinders off. Basketball is a team game. Often times more than one player is deserving of an award, unfortunately the award can only be given to one player. There are no predetermined or designated awards given out at SK.

Sure it matters. But what matters more is playing team basketball and winning games. Ally worked her tail off to get back and help this team. She makes everyone better. Not everything she does shows up in the box score. Like someone said it’s not the 3rd Qtr MVP. Time for everyone to put their egos aside or the season will be over fast.
