Jeremiah Bell has to be one of the best point guards in the state yet I've not heard muh about him all season. Maybe I just missed the discussion on him. Does the kid have any offers? He is silky smooth. I'm also very impressed by Hagen Tyler and although he had an up and down tournament that's bound to happen for a shooter of his caliber. Can't wait to see him suiting up for the Norse.

Very good game. Williamsburg surprised the heck out of me. I love watching gray for doss, he's a gem. Can anyone tell me why a team with a yellow jacket as a mascot uses orange as its main color?

Also not to start any rumors but I know that Garrison from Mason apparently has some NKY connections and is close to some players from Holmes. I've heard he could possibly relocate in the future but until I hear more I'll just assume this rumor has no legs. I've watched him play a couple times though and he is definitely a difference maker and has a pretty mature body for his age.

Allen for PC should be the top freshman in the 10th region next year. Pretty sure the kid dropped 30+ points in either a district or regional game a few weeks ago.

I've never seen the kid play on the diamond but I've heard great things. If he's anywhere near the player he is on the hardwood then he's a heck of a player. I loved watching him play basketball. What are his college options so far in terms of recruiting? I know both sports sort of overlap towards the end of basketball season but I wonder if he could attempt to play both in college. If I'm NKU I'd be all over Pangallo offering him the chance to play both sports. Better yet how about Walk on PG at UK and scholarship baseball player, the Cats are going to need some new walk ons beginning next year :ylsuper:

I also heard some interesting comments from adults that left me shaking my head. This was during the Dixie vs Holmes game and the comments were made by some CCH fans sitting directly behind me. The comments in my opinion were ridiculous but everyone has their opinions and a few bad apples are always present at these games.

Camels learn from the first meeting. They will zone Cov cath and walk away with the W. Wilson proves to be too much down low for Cov Cath, they have no one big enough and strong enough to stop him on the inside.

If Holmes can stay out of foul trouble I think they win this game. They seem to have improved their zone offense which was a struggle for them all season long. On the other hand hopefully Holmes has taken note on how to stop Cov Cath. Give me Holmes by 2 points.

Bolden was also fouled on that three attempt but didn't get the call. I still see your argument. I had no problem with the officiating last night but I've never seen a player get slapped as much dribbling as Bolden does, he's constantly getting beat up with the ball and given those circumstances he does a remarkable job. Lastly, I'd argue that NCC has three go to players not four. If you want to consider Moeves a go to player than under those guidelines Avery and Mullins would also be go to guys giving Holmes a total of four. Pangallo, McDonald and Weyer are go to guys. Moeves is a nice player but he's a role player IMO.

I havent seen McCann too much but I have watched pretty many Holmes games over the years and he reminds a bit of Marcus Hill. If I remeber right Marcus was a project that developed into one of the better bigs Holmes has had in recent years. I could be completely wrong. McCann definitely has an intriguing build. How big are LJ's relatives that you speak of? He could be a big time player if he can sprout up and mature.

Agreed. If LJ Miller can bulk up and grow a couple inches over the summer I think he will be a contributor as well. He kinda reminds me of beetle when he was a frosh, not quite as good but similar builds and Miller can flat out stroke it. I'm also intrigued by Deandre McCann, I think that's him. Looks to be about 6' 4" at least and seems pretty raw in terms of basketball talent but seemed pretty coordinated the couple times I seen him. Definitely looking forward to seeing Holmes next year, they will have the best guards in region and I nice mix of size that they haven't had in a while.

Holmes will still have an awesome backcourt next year with Commodore, McClendon and Mullins. Moore, Greene and Arnold will provide them with some solid bigs. Then they will also still have Daniels and Englemon, one of which could start instead of Commodore. I expect LJ Miller to contribute next year as well. I dont think next year is the year for HC to get out of districts.

It looks like ESPN has upgraded Bolden from 3* status to a 4*. Now the 27th best PG in the country. Very impressive for the NKY product. Can't wait to watch him at WVU next season. :wave: Bolden 3-3 free throws on a bogus call. I remember seeing that in the update thread. I bet if it had been Pangallo shooting the 3 it wouldn't have been bogus. Actually Bolden gets fouled a lot even on his made baskets due to the elevation he gets on his shot, gets hit on the wrist quite a bit. We all have our opinions, it's all good.

At the high school level when you drive aggressively as Holmes did you're typically going to get some calls. Last night it was a no call every time. You can't tell me out of the 10 times or so Holmes attacked the basket every time the defender was straight up. Mullins and McClendon both got raped at least twice a piece attacking the basket. Officials didn't seem to mind blowing the whistle the other way however in the second half, especially after coach Dawn worked the officials for a couple minutes at half time. It is what it is, New Cath is talented and the better team probably won.

I over heard a Holmes student talking about a senior prank. From what I heard the student saying it was a pretty harmless prank. Won't go into details and it might not even be why Avery sat. I do know that they got zero production out of Greene and Moore on the offensive end and Avery would've been a huge difference maker. I do like what Greene and Moore gave Holmes on D, Arnold as well. Hopefully going forward coach L will continue playing Greene. I'd like to see him and Avery in at the same time. It would be their tallest and most athletic lineup and I think could cause matchup problems for most teams.

At one point I was so frustrated with about 30 seconds left I started yelling to foul. If you're only down 7 or 8 with close to 40 seconds left you have to foul. Listerman should've been yelling to foul. Heck Cov Cath fouled for the last couple minutes it seemed like, trying to stretch the game out and come back.

Pretty impressed with Holmes fight, especially without Avery. They play a lot of guys and I like that Greene got in there tonight. Officiating seemed to get a little one sided in the second half. Typically you'll get some fouls when you drive into a big man down low (McDonald) and initiate contact but not tonight. Also I must say the decision not too foul the last 40 seconds or so of the game really baffles me. Not sure I've ever seen that when your still within striking distance. Especially when you have a team that can create turnovers and a player that can go off in seconds like Beetle.

Holmes has a Mullins as well :up:. I'm aware that Mullins wasn't playing for SK which is why I said I'd like to see them at full strength.

I was referring to Mullins of Holmes. He hasn't played very well the last two games I've seen which were the CC game and the SK game. He is a very special player though and I've seen him when he is on. He's one of the better players in the region when he's playing with confidence.

Bolden and McClendon were amazing last night. Can't wait to see the Bolden dunk and Avery oop on vid. Also curious to see Boldens block since most in attendance seemed to think it was goaltending. Avery really finishes well at the rim when he gets it down on the baseline. Mullins has really been in a slump lately. SK was solid but I'd like to see them at full strength. It also seemed like they really lacked a true ball handler and they struggled with Holmes defensive pressure.

I wonder how many kids will look to transfer because of this?

I love watching Bolden play, he is the most exciting player I have seen in quite sometime at the high school level...he reminds me of Brandon Jennings and Rondo...he still has work to do obviously as he is only a sophomore but from what I hear he's a great kid and a hard worker...I would put money that he will be one of UKs top priorities at pg when the time gets closer...I've been wondering for a while now if he's any relation to Chris "James" Bolden the guard for g-tech, does anyone happen to know?
