Holmes may have one of the better sets of guards in the entire state in Palmer, Coston, Martin, Herndon and Bolden... Bolden is getting the least amount of playing time of all of them and is just a freshman but quite possibly is Holmes best guard and is getting more and more pt as the season rolls along...Rice is one of the most explosive players in the state and Knox, Lewis and Engelmon do the dirty work...It took a while for Holmes to figure out their rotation, build their depth and gain chemistry but its all coming.g together as of late...With their depth in the backcourt they cause fits for other teams with their pressure...The Dixie game will be a good measuring stick for Holmes but im starting too feel like Holmes could make a nice run come tourney time...This Holmes squad will be another one too challenge for another state title or two in the coming years Imo...

They have recruited this area in the past and he does remind me a bit of a commadore although the sec may be a stretch for him...he is very good and is well deserving of a D1 scholly though and I thought the same thing about hickey and he is holding his own in the sec

Bolden is the real deal...I watched the iv game and he can do it all, good leaping.g ability, sweet stroke, nice handles and a good teammate...he will be huge later in the year for the dogs and its scary to think how good he will be as a senior it looks like he could grow at least a few more inches as well...Very impressed with the depth Holmes is building and the way they are growing as a team...Way better chemistry, enthusiasm and ball movement than earlier in the year...Rice, Palmer, Costin, Knox, Lewis, Martin and Bolden a looked very good tonight...Id also like to say im impressed with Herndon from JV and am surprised he doesn't see varsity minutes...

Why even bother playing this rivalry at HC ever? Just play it at Holmes every year and it won't be so hot, no slick floor and no turning away paying fans due to lack of seating...Its not like playing it at Holmes gives Holmes an unfair home court advantage every year, the Fieldhouse is a comfortable gym...It would be similar I guess to Brossart and Cc playing every year at Cc Middle school which I believe they do, Brossart would never be able to accommodate all the fans ...Even without the slick floor everytime these to go at it at HC you know that it will be extremely hot and uncomfortable for the fans and probably the players as well and fans that want to see the game wont be able too...I love HCs gym but not for a game that draws the crowd that this one does...it just stinks I left early from work for this game and rushed to get there all for nothing, im done whining now:lol:

Is Campbell a D1 talent or is he just dominating weaker smaller opponents...? With NKU moving up could he be a good fit...

You also need power ...Idk how many times I have seen speed teams from the Pac 10, Big East, ACC etc get manhandled by the SeC powerhouses because all they had was speed...Shaun Alexander made a nice living as a power back in the SEC...

Simpson was a stud and would probably be UKs best RB if it wasn't for their love of speed backs vs power backs...

Its hard too watch SK after enjoying Simpson and Lawrence the last few years...They still have a solid D but they still run the same Offense they did with Chad taking the snaps and nobody on this team is close to him talent wise at the QB position...

I wonder how many 6a schools in the state would beat NCC or Beechwood year in and year out? I would guess not to many maybe a handful...SK is improving on Offense and they have a solid Defense already, it looks to me like they are still near the top in NKY 6a...

There is a poster in the basketball board hyping up Stephens the transfer fro Holmes...I thought he was a senior last year...Here is his post...I hear David Stephens is going to be a monster this year for SK's football team. He is 6'7" and a transfer from Holmes High. I also hear Dylan Harris is going to be playing this year. Harris played his freshman year and had a TD every game. He went to state for track his freshmen year as well as his sophmore year. This kid, Harris, is really fast on his feet and plays WR. I think Stephens is playing WR as well. I think Stephens has the size and arm to be a good QB for SK. Never know . . . !!! We will see! What do you think ukfan?
