  1. The Reds have a few decent infield and outfield prospects. In the Outfield you have Siri, Trammell, Friedl, Aquino, Herrera to go along with Winker. Hopefully one of these guys can be the CF of the future. One of the infielder options below could also possible be an option to move to CF. In the infield you have Senzel, Long, Peraza (to early to give up on) to go along with Suarez. I think Senzel and Long are legit prospects, Senzel obviously is but they both play 2B. There’s also Dilson Herrera who is still young, was once a top prospect and already has a taste of MLB, not sure why he is in A+ right now. I know he’s had an injured past but he seems good finally.
  2. Keury Mella at AA 3-0 27 IP 25 K 5 BB 1.00 ERA Taylor Trammell at A+ .286/.394/.512 15 BB and 17 K 4 Doubles, 3 Triples, 3 HR’s, 2 SB’s Mitch Nay at A+ .352/.514/.614 8 Doubles, 5 HR, 27 RBI Shed Long at AA .351/.432 7 Doubles, 1 Triple, 4 SB TJ Friedl at A+ .289/.412 5 Doubles, 1 Triple, 2 HR, 17 RBI, 3 SB
  3. He’s our best strikeout option and he’s our best Home Run option off the bench in that situation. Duvall flat out stinks. But hey there’s this guy name Rosell Herrera that’s had one AB in five games since being promoted. Maybe given him a shot would’ve been an option.
  4. Benny Snell, CJ Conrad, Denzil Ware, Josh Allen, Jordan Jones, Mike Edwards more than likely will be drafted next year. Am I missing anyone? Maybe Landon Young, Chris Westry, Derrick Baity, Lonnie Johnson.
  5. Garrett Johnson and Austin MacGinniss both signed deals with the Bears. kayaune Ross signed with the Colts and Courtney Love with the Browns. Not sure of any others.
  6. Large lead in the seventh inning and Hamilton comes in as a defensive replacement. I have no problem with it but seems like a great time to get Herrera out of the dugout and onto the field. Not saying he’s Hamilton in the field, in fact I have no idea what he is. Just feel bad for the way the Reds treat their recently brought up players letting them rot on the bench.
  7. I’m not saying Herrera is anything special but he was swinging a hot bat at AAA. Throw him in there and see if he can stay hot, don’t bring him up and let him rot on the bench. The reds confuse me. He’s younger than Duvall and was once considered a top prospect. Or let him play for Hamilton. The Reds have to have the worst offensive outfield in baseball outside of Winker but Ervin or Herrera cant get a legit shot.
  8. Keury Mella has probably earned consideration to be the next SP brought up. He has dominated AA so far this year. Last night he tossed 7 shutout innings with 9 K’s and no walks.
  9. Should’ve played Herrera over Duvall. Time to get Suarez some starts at SS as well to see how he looks there opening up third base for Blandino and eventually possibly Senzel.
  10. Herrera seems like a super utility guy. I like the move to bring him up. I’m all for seeing some fresh faces on this team. Herrera was the 87th best prospect in baseball in 2013 and is a former futures game participant, he’s still just 25 years old. Should’ve released Duvall and made Ervin the everyday Left Fielder. Herrera should be given the chance to play CF a few times a week to see if somehow he could be a future piece there. From Doug Gray: When it comes to Rosell Herrera, he’s been hitting well all spring. He almost made the team out of spring training, but was ultimately sent to Triple-A. In 15 games with the Bats he’s hit .311/.373/.607. That’s come along with five walks and 10 strikeouts in 68 plate appearances. Career .283/.354 hitter at the AAA level in 381 at bats there with 22 SB Defensively he can play a little bit of everywhere. Just this season he’s played shortstop, second base, third base, center field, left field, and right field in Louisville. He’s a switch hitter.
  11. Quackenbush cleared waivers and is going to be stashed away in Louisville. Best news I’ve heard all day.
  12. I can’t diasagree with any of this but I’d keep either one of them over Duvall.
  13. I had that thought about Ervin too. Hamilton doesn’t bother me too much in the 9 spot but I would like to see what Ervin could do with an extended look in CF. Hamilton needs to ditch the Switch hitting. What would there be to lose by experimenting with it? So he looses a half a step out of the box, doesn’t matter since he can’t put the bat on the ball consistently as lefty anyways. I know it’s been discussed before but he’s so much more fluid from the right side, he’s a hacker as a left handed batter. I feel like he could make a living waiting back on pitches and slapping them to right field as a right handed hitter.
  14. Senzel I think has an 8 game hitting streak going. The Reds could have a solid offensive team if and when they bring him up. LF Winker C Barnhart 1B Votto SS Suarez RF Schebler 3B Senzel 2B Scooter Pitcher CF Hamilton Bench Peraza covering all over the IF and maybe some OF if needed Ervin covering all OF spots Blandino covering all over the IF Mes backup catcher Duvall backup 1B maybe 3B on occasion if needed
  15. The Quack Attack!!! There’s not another bullpen in the majors that he would be a part of.
  16. What’s that have to do with anything. Suarez played for the Reds in 2015 and Peraza was the Reds #1 prospect.
  17. It’s hard telling. Some of our better prospects during the 2015 season have already failed to live up to the hype. Position player wise isn’t far off from where we are. We had a surplus of young pitching prospects many of which haven’t reached the majors yet or haven’t had more than a cup of coffee in the majors. C- Mes 1B- Votto 2B- Blandino, Possibly Jagielo in the mix somewhere SS- Peraza 3B- Suarez RF- Ervin, Yorman Rodriguez, Waldrop, Aquino CF- Hamilton LF- Winker SP- Stephenson, Garrett, Reed, Lamb, Finnegan, Bailey, Travieso Pen- Moscot, Cingrani, Weiss, Hergot, Rainey, Lorenzen, Iglesias
  18. Shed Long will need a place to play. Maybe the Reds try him out in a corner OF spot. I’m also not ready to give up on Rob Stephenson, he showed flashes last season.
  19. Jimmy Herget would’ve been my first call if I needed an arm.
  20. Can someone explain why the Reds designated Ariel Hernandez? You can’t give up a guy with his pure stuff for no reason, even with his control problems. Ariel will click with another organization and become an all star closer now. Especially to bring up a reliever that has never impressed anyone in Dylan Floro. This organization really is clueless.
  21. The Brewers designated JJ Hoover. He would plug nicely into the pen.
  22. The Reds have Votto, Scooter, Suarez (injured), Winker and Barnhart as position players deserving of being on an MLB ball-club. I’d like to see Ervin get an extended look and it’s still to early to tell on Blandino. Obviously Senzel when the timing is right. I’d like to see an OF of Winker, Ervin and Elizalde. The Reds need guys that can give them decent at bats. Duvall, Peraza and Hamilton kill this team as everyday players. On the pitching side of things Quack has no business being in an MLB bullpen. Weiss, Herget or Ariel Hernandez would be better options. Rainey will be a good one but should have never been put into a close game yet. He barely has any innings above A ball.
  23. The reds have signed SP Yovani Gallardo to a one year major league deal. He was just released four days ago by the Brewers. No risk signing. Once a very good pitcher, velocity apparently has regain some ticks which is reason for optimism.
