I thought this would be a closer game. WOW! I was impressed with what Hazard had done this year but never dreamed this would happen to them. Congrats Mayfield.

Congrats to Mayfield!! Definitely one of the best teams in recent years in 1A. Luke Guhy is player of the year in 1A.

 

I'm not positive VOR, but i think they gave that award to the Hazard QB, Combs i think was his name.

Just got in from BG... man, it was good to be on the winning side of the scoreboard! I feel for the folks from Hazard because we had the same thing done to us last year. As for the game, all I can say is WOW! Everyone contributed to this win. I'm very proud of a defensive unit that stymied a very potent offense...Number 8 feels great.

Yes, but the difference was, last year LCH called a timeout i think with about 1 and a half minutes left and went for another score! Something else i did not understand, if i had a son on the Hazard bench i would be very upset that the subs did not get into the game when the outcome was well decided, all those hours that these kids put in during the year they should of had the chance to play on the turf of a championship game. Give these future players a chance to experience the atmosphere, who knows if or when you get another chance, thougt the Hazard coach made a big mistake there!

It feels good for this team. It was a hard working team on a mission. The staff did an excellent job with this bunch. It might be a while before we get the right mix like this again.

It was such a great ride, sorry to see this season come to an end. Offense, Defense, Special Teams ... all 3 were at their best this year. Hazard looked a bit like Mayfield last year, enjoying the moment of being in a state championship and then BOOM ... turnover, turnover, turnover and they find themselves trying to dig out of a hole after 1 quarter and by halftime it was a moot point. Enjoy the moment Cardinals, no doubt you are THE best in 1A for 2010.
