Was last night a moral victory for Ryle?

Featured Replies

I am going to lean yes. Ryle pushed Trinity some and played them close for three quarters. This is a couple of steps forward for any public school and I think it is a moral victory for the Raiders.

Agree? Disagree?

Overall, I agree

So close and yet so far. If not being dominated means morale victory, yes. If walking away thinking you could have won the game means morale victory, no.

No such animal. Either you win or you lose. Only a team that comes out with an "L" talks about moral/morale victories.

That's crap. It was a moral loss, period. There's a lot of young men hurting this morning in Union and in my opinion you should close this thread.

No. If it were a regular season game, perhaps I could buy into it, but not when the season ends. There are no moral victories in the playoffs, only painful defeats.

Of couse. We are human and when we lose and play hard and close we can get something out of it. Compared to not trying and not giving your 100%. Sometimes the other team is just better. Did you give your all? Then the moral case is therefore in place.

If Ryle gets their youth football program in order, developing many, many kids, rather than only 13-15 per team, like the Boone County system, then they could be an elite every year like Trinity and X.

There is no such thing as a moral victory. A loss is a loss. I don't know why everyone wants to sugar coat a loss nowadays?? To be the champ you have to beat the champ and from my view Ryle looked far far away. Good luck to both programs in the future.

Ryle is a big school but doesnt have the luxury that Trinity has in their draw of talent in the Louisville Metro area. Lets face it, if someone wants to go to a football powerhouse in NKY they move into Ft. Thomas and Union is probably their next option. If someone is looking to put their stud athlete into an elite program in Louisville they go to Trinity and they have more kids to draw from.

Ryle showed a lot in the game but they could not last and ran out of steam.

I think people forget that it cost a lot of money to go to Trinity and St. X. They just don't open the doors and the masses come running in. It is a real commitment with a lot of sacrifice for a lot of families. Before anyone says it, no the athletes are not on scholarships. There are rules regarding this. It costs big dollars for everyone.

As a matter of fact this Trinity sophomore class lost a very good receiver to Ballard because one of his parents lost their job and they could no longer afford the tution.

Lets face it Ryle has come long and this was there year. There are never any moral victories ever.Thats just silly. Thats like saying if this years HHS team doesnt win state then its ok cause they were just a Mediocre team as some people have said. Come on they lose they lose!

And come on fatsnbul do you realy think we are stupid????? Saying that EVERY PERSON pays the same and there are rules against that in the words of #85 child please!!!

Nope, just another step.

06' team already took that "step". Actually made it farther. I am still miffed at the lack of respect for the 06' team at Ryle. IMO, they were a better team than this years team. Played with more emotion and heart. Vince Murray is/was a gamer. Would not trade him for anybody on this years team.
