I saw the 35-page handout that Trinity gives to the media before their games (not sure if they do for every game or just playoffs), but wow! That was one utterly impressive and interesting handout. Someone (likely several people) have put in a ton of time to prepare something like that. If Trinity fans have not seen this thing, you should ask your coach for a copy. It's unreal . . . .

They're not supposed to state the player's number in high school games when announcing a penalty. They just started doing that in college games a couple of years ago...

Tough for a young team to go on the road and win in the playoffs. Even tougher when you have to deal with the officials.

 

Even though Trinity didn't play great, they still won by 19 at the #2 team in the state.

Arrogance is ugly. Even in victory, you make excuses. Trinity played plenty good, if not great tonight. You're spoiled and need to step back and appreciate what you have.

I thought the other running back (12 or 18) was Ryle's best back tonight. Elliott just doesn't have the speed to hurt Trinity's defense.

 

He actually has pretty good speed, did he get caught from behind on the 41 yard run? Keeping him from the 2nd level is key, if he's able to get going downhill he's a bear to contain.

 

Is it true that T only starts 4 seniors?

T's young players continue to show poise and maturity beyond their years. They haven't always played perfectly this season but they have never come close to imploding, either. They had a super tough test last night and passed it. The coaches deserve a lot of credit, too. On to BG to meet the Bulldogs.

The announcer for Ryle was pretty bad, I can't remember how many times I saw the refs call a false start and the announcer would continuously call it illegal procedure as though he didn't know what the announcers were signaling. I would think just about any penatly would be considered an illegal procedure....

Congrats to the Rocks on a great win on the road against a very good Ryle team. Buffalo Bob's was a great suggestion by Ryle fans... we had a great meal and a great waitress, thanks! It seemed to me that Travis Wright was not on his normal game tonight. The cold weather seemed to effect his throwing ability. The T defense played a great game shutting down the high scoring Raider offense. Ryle IS the 2nd best team in KY (I mean that as a compliment)! Congrats on a great season. I'm going to leave the refs penalty calls in Union. I'll just say, call it the same way on both sides. GO ROCKS! #20!

As of 2010, Union's population is 5,345 people. The population of Louisville, Kentucky on November 27th 2010 is approximately 736,367. Wasn't meant to be a jab at Trinity. Just reminding the players of the odds they came so close to beating.

Trinity is such a good football team they aren't physically imposing so much but they are never out of position and they don't make mistakes defensively. They were the better team but Ryle played a good game. I actually thought it was funny to hear T fans crying about the officals at half time considering holds, opi's and illegal procedures were blatant. Of all the hype over Quick and he is good, Trinity's D was much more impressive to me. I'd say good luck next week T but you won't need it and congrats on a nice season for the Raiders.

Actually rotating the fists around each other is an illegal procedure signal; there is no specifc signal for false start, unless they move one hand out from the chest which is illegal motion, or both hands out from the chest, which is illegal shift.

Actually the signal and the penalty is officially illegal procedure. It can cover various acts not just a false start.
