Track the Reds (Week 14)

Featured Replies

Exactly, it depends on the situation. Not sure where the arbitrary 10% comes from.

Just let it go. Apparently the high school and college coaches I played for, and learn from, are clueless.

Well I'm done with it and lets just all be happy that we are arguing about something as small as this because the last year or 10 there has been a lot bigger problems.

And FYI, I just finished playing D1 baseball so I think I know a little bit too

I honestly would rather trade Chapman than Wood.
Good luck finding a team willing to take on Chapman's contract.

The Reds weren't the only bidders for him, were they? I can't believe the Reds made the biggest contract offer, and surely his value as a prospect hasn't dropped that much in just a couple months.

I tell you what fellas, it is just nice to have options going into the All-Star break. Sure is a nice seasons to be a Reds fan.

It is for most.

Why would his value drop because he has shown some control problems? He is still trying to get acclimated to the U.S. and brings the ball up there like its shot out of a cannon and he is "left-handed" Name the last 5 power throwing lefthanders and Randy Johnson doesn't count.

Initial gut reaction on "Bowtie Night" (or whatever they called it):

Thom looks like a dorky accountant from the '50s. Chrissy looks like some yayhoo Southern gentleman history prof.

News flash: We have a great leadoff hitter.

It's a shame Harang had to go on the DL, this is the kind of ballpark he does really well in.

Weird inning here.

I just couldn't let this go. Once again Dusty leaves a pitcher in too long. With Santana dealing you can't give up 2 more runs with a tired lefty versus a good hitting righthander and a righty warming up. Stall, send the pitching coach out, whatever, but get a guy in there to face Bay. Give your team a chance to win a game 2-1.

I agree that he should have not faced the last batter, but a pop up bunt that goes off his heel, and two ground balls that could have been double play balls was brutal.

I remember now what concerned me about Maloney doing well at the major league level. He throws a lot of strikes and challenges hitters but he really nneds an out pitch. Here's hoping he can develop a good enough slider or something else to be that pitch. Ondrusek looked good tonight but the offense was overmatched against Santana. I guess the controversy around him has died down. It doesn't take long to forget about things in NY, there's ususally something new everyday. Gomes needs the All star break badly, he's pressing a lot. I'm still happy though.
