Baseball is hypothetical. Very few situations are the exact same. A groundball to the right side never guarantees a run, whether you think it does or not. Now, a groundball up the middle pass the pitcher, I'd agree. Not a good strategy to hit the ball to the right side with the 1st baseman in, hypothetically speaking.

 

And a short fly ball is no guarantee either...I get what you're saying but the odds are better for a runner to get home on a ground ball to the 2nd basemen than a fly ball to an outfielder. Think about it. The runner is half to 3/4s of the way home by the time the 2nd basemen even fields the ball. On a fly ball, obviously the runner is still on the base when the ball is being played. Which runner would you rather be? The one on the base when the outfielder has the ball, or the runner that has 3 or 4 more steps when the 2nd basemen touches the ball?

More often than not, a hard hit ball to the middle to the field will score a runner from third and less than 2 outs regardless of whether its on the ground or in the air. That's what players should be trying to do. Hit the ball hard and away from the corners and they'll be successful on a regular basis.

At the end of the day (sorry, end of the discussion, beginning of the day), we are up two in the division. I will take that for sure, especially if they could be playing any better. Some of ya'll can find little things to complain about after each game, I will just enjoy the wins when we get them, especially at the current rate. (4-1 to start this roadtrip).

It's happened a lot the past few days but they've still won and in the end that's all that matters. If you were a fan of any other team you'd get mad at their players too for not converting chances. You simply watch the Reds do it and get on here and complain about it like they are the only team that does it.

You're missing the point. Every team fails to convert chances. If you were a fan of Pittsburgh you'd see plenty of missed chances and a last place team. The way it is, you're seeing missed chances and a first place team. Missed chances happen to everyone. Enjoy watching a first place team.
