July 8, 201016 yr Exhibit A of exactly what I'm talking about. There is absolutely no pleasing some of you guys. Same guy telling me I complain too much.
July 8, 201016 yr EZ isn't even saying they would have won. He's saying it's easier to come back against Santana if the score is 1-0 rather than 3-0. UKMF and EZ battle constantly about this, but honestly UKMF defends dumb decisions sometimes just to argue his point. I really think you don't let Bay beat you there against a young lefty making his first big league start this year. I really think a lot of other people that follow or know baseball feel the same way. That's all EZ was saying. That isn't wrong IMO. Dusty IMO deserves a ton of credit for where this team is, but does that mean he's perfect and doesn't make mistakes? Glad somebody can read and look at the logic of the post.
July 8, 201016 yr To be fair to me, I also said I didn't agree with that decision, just that it didn't cost them the game. If you start saying that kind of stuff, you're playing the "what if" game. As far as yesterday's game goes, I could make an arguement that Votto cost the Reds teh game because he couldn't make contact with a runner at third and only one out in the first. That's a matter of simple "what if", which is a game that we could play all day long to no end. You like others are once again missing the point here. Sure the players make mistakes but Dusty has no control over that other than to take them out of situations if they continue to do it. There are things that Dusty does have control over though and he gets paid nicely to make decisions in a 1 run game. I don't think he does a good job of this and I am going to bring it up everytime I think he does it.
July 8, 201016 yr It didn't cost them the game, but it was a poor decision that did not give the team the best chance to win the game. It's basically semantics... Thank you.
July 8, 201016 yr Exactly. The whole thing is putting your team in the best positions to win close games. Thank you.
July 8, 201016 yr No way you leave Bronson in at that point. Let you closer do his job and close the game out.
July 8, 201016 yr If Dusty Baker doesn't poison the Gatorade cooler of the Philadelphia Phillies I won't watch another game until Dusty Baker refuses to personally inject PEDs into our starting lineup after the All-Star break, then I will complain again.
July 8, 201016 yr I don't mind using Cordero at all. I won't complain about Dusty on that. Cordero loves making things difficult though. Why not make it easy on yourself and bring Arthur in, lefty, righty, who cares? I know that CoCo is the closer but who is doing a better job, Arthur or CoCo? Arthur would be my closer on the team.
July 8, 201016 yr ^ The guy with 32 career saves? No thanks I will leave him in the role he is best suited for.
July 8, 201016 yr Typical Coco 9th. Shaky but got it done. Does CoCO ever have a 1,2,3 inning. Another 24 pitches tonight and 100 more gray hairs in Dusty's peanut.
