BBA - No Accountability

Featured Replies

No crews that I am aware of in the state. Officials A, B and C may work together one night and then A is with D and E the next night, B is with F and G, etc.

Now look at the scrabbling that goes into place if A,B, and C get suspended on night one and the next night A is suppose to work with D and E and B is suppose to work with F and G. This could be an assigning secretarys nightmare. Understand that I agree that a HUGE mistake was made, but their is a bigger picture that must be considered.

I agree! I believe the bigger picture is the integrity of the association as a whole, and no action is worse that a little refiguring for one post-season.

Not second guessing you Clyde' date=' because I have alot of respect for your wisdom of the game, But I have watched this clip over and over, and I have yet to find a walk..I guess I must try to watch it again.[/quote']

Watch the very beginning. Two jab steps with the right foot, lift the left (pivot) foot THEN start the dribble. Classic travel.

That is a good eye.

I was not at the game that started this, but sometimes coaches can put their players in "no win" situations, which is bad for the player. Referees are humans with human emotions. They react to their emotions as does any other human. I witnessed a game this year where a coach called a ref " an idiot". I could not figure out why he did not get a T, but he did not get one. But , as fate would have it, this coach did not get any close calls toward the end of the game and his team lost. Did the players lose? No, they played their hearts out. The coach lost this game. I am not saying to "sit on the bench and never open your mouth". But there are tactful ways to argue your calls or point out things without humiliating the referee. And this is true in all sports. I have always heard in baseball/softball that a pitcher or a batter had better never humilate the plate umpire or they could see a drastic change in the strike zone.

Maybe that ref didn't know what the word "idiot" meant.

I wasn't aware officials did the games for free. That has to be one of the worse calls I've ever seen. Everybody in the gym had to know the tip in was before the buzzer. I think the KHSAA should have stepped in, and awarded the game to Franklin County.

I was there and it was a toss up 3 for it not counting and 2 saying it should have. The shot happened with .03 seconds. Thats a coin flip everytime with human error involved. Replay would have been the only way besides the 50/50 to have gotten this 100% correct!

Maybe that ref didn't know what the word "idiot" meant.

This coach can get pretty irate. A few weeks later I saw him in another game call a player on his team an idiot followed by "I do not know why I even let you on my team".

I watched the feet and if a ref calls that a travel at that point in the game then he is wrong IMO. I dont think it was that bad and you would have to be studying the feet to even pick up on that.

I agree and people are getting on websites and talking about how you didn't even give Franklin Co. a chance or you took one away from them. Oh wait..........

Its 100% blatant travel regardless of the time. Its not even close. It gives an unfair advantage to the dribbler.

Dude, its the refs job to be studying the feet. That's why they're out there.

Where's Ernie Ligget when you need him?:thumb:

Just watched the clip again. What a shame. A great moment in a team's history and a kid's life, taken away.

The thing that I noticed the most out of the whole clip was the poor FC players that came off the bench last to join the celebration and the look on one of their faces when they looked down and probably saw HC celebrating as well and the ref waving it off. What a punch in the gut !!!

I am guessing those refs got a police escort out of there.

What I'm struggling with is what the ref that is in the frame doing? Looked like he just wanted to get out of there.
