BBA - No Accountability

Featured Replies

Wow - some call outs on this thread.

First - I agree it was a terrible call. I feel sorry for Franklin County who deserved to have the basket count and advance in the tournament.

However, the call was made by the trail official. It is his call to make. The trail official was not Bo Queen.

Do I think the officials should have come together to discuss what each saw/heard to make sure they give their best effort to get it right? I most certainly do.

But to call out a good official like Bo on here when it really wasn't his call to make is a bit over the top.

Regardless of who the refs are in any game, people are going to be displeased with the performance of the crew. However, these refs were selected to work the Regional Tournament for a reason. I think it is unfair to say that certain crew members should not be allowed to work any more games or be completely dismissed because of one bad call. Now, that was a huge call, but if any other person in their own profession made one mistake, would it be fair to fire them from their job?

It happens all the time.

What a clear cut, blown call. Unreal that all three officals could have missed this. How???

Has there ever been an explaination of how or why the three offcials did not clear the court and come together to discuss this before a FINAL outcome was determined?

It will be interesting to see who calls tonight's 10th Region final.

I have a strong feeling that if Bart Lenox is representing the 10th Region at the State Tournament that he will be one of the 3. I have an idea of who the other two will be, I know faces better than names.

WOW! Not even close! You hear every night how some ref screwed up, but this? Again, WOW! Sorry for the kids from Franklin Co, think they advanced only to be crushed by a horrible call! Their dreams of a Sweet 16 shattered.

I wasn't personally calling out Bo Queen in my post. I simply said I was very surprised he was back at it immediately after being on that crew. I would have said the same thing for any of the three. I just think the entire crew has to be held accountable, not just the one person who actually made the call.

I was at the TC-SC game and I thought Bo did a good job.

BBA is a joke. Everybody praises Lennox for being one of the best too, and well I just don't see it. If he's known as the best of the group... that should tell you something. :sssh:

I have seen some very well called games though so not all refs are a lost cause!

I'm sure you won't have to worry about him for long.

I was calling him out, and the other three as well. If a kid makes a turnover or missing a shot, or does something else to cost his team the game his name appears in the paper and these are 15-18 year old kids. Bo is a grown man, and he and the other 3 should be held accountable when they screw up as well.

These guys go crazy if you say something about a member of their crew during a game, so to say if one screws up it should be only him who is punished is ludicrous.

The only answer I have for you is to become an official so that every call in your game is made correctly.

Bart was also one of the ones on the Berea College Brawl last month too I believe. I believe I saw him jumping into a few hay makers in that one. Man he has had a rough couple of weeks.

Bo wasn't the trail official, it wasn't his call. And, without a replay system to get it right, the other officials may or may not be able to help because it isn't their call. Especially the guy under the basket, he has the worst chance of any of them. The other officials have other jobs. It is unfortunate, but it was his call.

I hate this event for all involved. The quote above is ridicuous. These officials are graded constantly. No one wants to be an official anymore for this very reason.

Add replay to HS ball, then your problem is solved. Until then, watch the game and enjoy.

Wow it took 25 posts before we get the obligatory, "you do it if you think you're better" post.

What else has happenend to Bart besides the Berea thing?

Do I get a prize?!

It's simply the truth.
