Any known athlete who changes schools is going to accused of doing it for athletic gain.

"Known" athlete yes.... "Any" athlete no.

That wouldn't surprise me at all. Dakotah Euton and Chad Jackson were both initially ruled ineligible when they transferred.

At least they move out of the county. What's the difference when the two basketball players transferred from Danville to Boyle County. Was this rule in effect when they transferred?

How good is this kid , Is he a impact player ?

Question on "transferring" back to Danville - if Dunn has never played a varsity sport at Boyle County, then doesn't that mean he has no issues concerning playing for Danville next year? I believe if you have never played a varsity sport at a school, you can transfer to another school any time you want and not have it impact your eligibility.

Yep, you are right and I failed to consider that in my earlier comment (as has been pointed out to me in a PM). Believe it or not, I was just logging on here to correct myself on that very point.

If you never played a varsity sport then the one year of ineligibility does not apply. He should be able to transfer back to Danville without any eligibility problems.

I apologize to inorout for my earlier comment as we all can see it was I who didn't know what I was talking about. :eyeonyou:

On the bright side, lunch is overdue and my shoe leather just hit the spot.

True, but wouldn't his transfer back to Danville be because he's ineligible at Boyle? That would still make him ineligible.

Which is what I was trying to get at earlier in this thread. The kid in question was from Lincoln County, but when he leaves Danville fights it all the way.

Coaches' egos are fragile.

Will Dunn may have lived in Lincoln County at one time, But lived in Danville and established his eligibility when he started High School. I think he even played for Bate Middle School.

So the mentioned student athlete has to be eligible some where, if he goes back to Danville would he be eligible for his senior season?

I know of a case similar to this scenario where the kid was allowed to transfer back and play.

A kid that lived in the Corbin school district and played football his freshman year transferred to Lynn Camp and played his sophomore and junior years without moving out of the Corbin district. He then transferred to Corbin the second semester of his junior year and intended to graduated and play for Corbin his senior year. The KHSAA ruled him ineligible at Corbin because he had not moved(even though he always lived in the Corbin district), so he transferred back to Lynn Camp and was eligible to play his senior year.

The kid just has to transfer back to Danville and he can play. He never played a sport at Boyle.

I think it may be a little trickier than one might think. There are many things ,besides this one player, to consider.

What if his mom moves to Boyle's district? Would that make him eligible?

He is very good, potentially one of the best players in the state.

What if his mom moves to Boyle's district? Would that make him eligible?

No because the move has to come before the enrollment in school.

After reading the article, I am sure the line at Danville will be very motivated to block for him....................hmmmm.
