This is beyond funny. Every UL fan that supported T-Will and acted like he did nothing wrong. He pulled a gun on a teammate for God sake.(Allegedly) Deuce you were always a strong supporter of him and your going to town on Cousins is kind of funny. Throwing an elbow in a very emotional game doesn't make you a thug, it makes you immature. Acting like T-Will does. I'm not justifying what he did or saying it was OK, I would have understood 100% if he was ejected but he wasn't.

I am out of the loop; which teammate did Terrence Williams pull a gun on?

There is no doubt it was chippy. Cousins play was dirty and malicious. There IS a difference. I'm done arguing this point with you all because it's obviously pointless.

Honestly, I thought the T was all that needed to be called. The side replay made it look like Cousins threw the elbow to try and hit Swopshire in the head but when they showed the view from straight on he flexed up and pushed down on the UL player. It was more of an intimidation move, not a punch or elbow thrown to strike the player. It was an immature action and warranted the Technical Foul but I really don't think it deserved an ejection. Especially considering the heightened emotions and all the contact by both players in the struggle for the ball. I didn't like the way the officials handled a lot of the game but I thought they used the monitor to get the call on that play correct.

Cheating on your wife in a public restaurant with witnesses sitting on the floor waiting for you to finish makes you a punk thug.

Throwing an elbow in the heat of a game makes you a competitor who earned a technical.

The refs took FOREVER looking at the video to make sure they got it right.... and they did.

I just wish UK had shot it well so the spread could have been 25 or so. We need Dotson to hit those open 3's.

Guess, I am a thug punk......hahahahah

I guess I am also a punk according to deuce because I get ticked off when I get a knee to the face also. Bottom line is this was a hot contest from the beginning. It all started when one of your genius former players wrote John Wall sucks on a t-shirt he autographed. No pre game handshakes from the UL guys is pretty classy also. Shoving in the tunnel and the Bledsoe/Delk jawing set up the incident with Cuz and Swop. Cuz takes a knee to the face, shoves a forearm at Swop, technicals all around, correct calls made, no fistfight, game goes on. You guys calling Cuz a punk and a thug have obviously never met the guy in person either. Just watch the video of him interviewing all the people on the streets of New York. You'll see the real big Cuz.

It really is too bad that Cousins is a punk, he can play ball.

If Cousins is a punk then so is Bledsoe, Delk, Sosa and Knowles.

This all started in the pregame. Knowles and Cousins were yapping with about 6 minutes left in pregame. Then as they were leaving the floor Jerry Smith started going after Cousins and yapping. Then the game started and it was Bledsoe and Delk....this all started in the early going. Sosa incited the crowd with his on court actions right after Bledsoe was pulled. I think the ref mishandled that situation but more on that later.

I was a little surprised the press was effective for UofL. They just didn't make enough shots to set it up.

I can't believe no one has mentioned this after 4 pages. Give Pitino all the credit in the world for their preparation. They were going to double Wall on inbounds and then they were going to shadow him up the court with a second defender if he didnt have the ball. UK made poor decisions in trying to make that contested pass. Bledsoe has been turnover prone all year. Give RP credit he has given other teams a blueprint as how to slow Wall...but they key is if you dont with that defense, you are in trouble on the backside.

It was more effective than I thought it would be too. They are very good at tempting other guards to get out of control and UK fell into it.

At a few points in today’s game Sosa and Samuels where the only ones that didn't look lost.

I think Smith, Knowles, Jennings and to some extent Swopshire need to step up and play ball, UL has the largest number of underachievers on one team that I've ever seen but I think it can all come together if they had a good floor general and a glue guy...

I don't think UL is a bunch of underachievers, I just don't think many of them are up to the hype they had coming out of high school. For about the first 14 minutes and particularly after the 3 techs, UL was very very timid in the half court. They only had one field goal at the 8 minute mark of the game.

Sosa is decent, I don't think Samuels has much basketball savvy, and is not that great of an athlete. Knowles busts his butt, he overachieves in my opinion but did not play well today.

There is no denying Cousins is a heckuva ball player... He's a punk, nevertheless.

Cuz is goofy. I dont think he is mean-spirited, but does allow himself to get emotional at times. Teams are going to go after him...he will learn hopefully. UL is not a bunch of choir boys. Start with Jerry Smith if you ask me, then Sosa.

Congratulations to the Cats.

I'm proud to say that the Cards overcame a disasterous first half, and made it a game in the 2nd half. GREAT effort on their part!

I think the Cards did a great job of defense in the 1st half, or this game would have been unsurmountably ugly for us!

We'll get 'em next year, Cards!

UK has shot the ball pretty effectively from the perimeter this year. They had open looks just didnt knock them down. Then they missed a bunch of free throws.

Early in 2010 and RockMom takes another hit. Cousins is from Alabama and I know some stuff about him, but we all were young and need a chance to grow and he will. I'm an ex Ref and he should have not got thrown out. Refs should have stopped the game and call over the Head Coaches and tell them to control their players or they are gonna watch the game in the locker room.

Maybe they did but I didn't see it on TV.

The Cousins stuff isn't really bad, just has some control issues that you saw today. And he had to miss some games for his lack of this control. Bama comes to Rupp early February.

Good points.

Earlier I mentioned the yapping in pregame.

UL did not participate in the starting lineups. First time I have ever seen that. They stayed in their huddle and none of the five starters came out to be recognized. Do not know why. Was interesting though.

Regarding the Bledsoe/Delk situation. Cal was right to take out Bledsoe. If I were the ref, I would T'd both up right there and then. Or I would have told each coach to remove their player or they would get T'd up.

Officiating would let rough stuff go then call ticky tack stuff...it was inconsistent.

Take the W and move on.

The sun will rise in Louisville today. Very proud of the way the Cards fought. I am disapointed with Samuels. In order for the Cards to have a chance in the Big East he is going to have to step it up. The Cards are lacking that pure scorer. Cards did a good job of forcing the tempo. Had the Cats been able to run this game might have gotten ugly.

As for the Cats they have a load of talent. I have no problem with the way any of them played or acted. It is a rival game emotions should run high. If they don't then you don't need them. If UK has any concern is they didn't knock out the Cards when the should have in the first half. I think UofL zone created problems for the Cats. I enjoy watching Wall and Patterson.

Most important game for the Cards is coming up. Need to bounce back with a win.

Will you wear this if I buy it for you Rockmom? :D:popcorn:

Uh...NO! :p

When? Was Patterson laying on the ground with his hands around the basketball?

And his knee in the face?

Maybe this is why Cousins reacted the way he did. Need more proof that he was kneed in the head?

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

At this point they were going after the ball. The knee was not intentional.

Congrats to UK on the win. It was ugly but proud of UofL for keeping up a fight.

Samuels and Jennings were disappointing. Think they got the "Sissy Sosa" problem.

I agree with Deuce. Cousins is very good. Don't care what team he plays for he should have been ejected. And please don't tell me about what Coach K didn't do to Laettner. How that was handled was wrong and so was this!

The only thing that really made me sick in this game was the fact that Cousins is a young man who needs to be reeled in. He has very little discipline and should have been ejected this afternoon.....other than that, it was a great effort by both teams. They both played very poorly, they're lucky they were playing each other.....lots of stuff to build on for both programs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't you always said that you felt that Laettner didn't deserve to be ejected in the 1992 Duke-Kentucky game?

Cheating on your wife in a public restaurant with witnesses sitting on the floor waiting for you to finish makes you a punk thug.

What does this have to do with BASKETBALL? Fishing, I understand.

Throwing an elbow in the heat of a game makes you a competitor who earned a technical.Or accidentally stepping on someones chest!

The refs took FOREVER looking at the video to make sure they got it right.... and they did. The answer I would expect from that side!

I just wish UK had shot it well so the spread could have been 25 or so. We need Dotson to hit those open 3's.

So does the 9 measly points tell us that UL is better than advertised or the U OF K is not as good as advertised?

Did you ever meet Laetner? Apparently not nor did any of you know Laetner? Difference is..... One happend to U of K and one was implemented by U OF K.

[/b] So does the 9 measly points tell us that UL is better than advertised or the U OF K is not as good as advertised?

It tells us it is a rivalry game. Have you ever seen a game in the UK/UL series? How often is there a blowout by the team expected to do so?

Exactly OR:thumb: I'm getting a kick out of these fans bashing Cousins. Did he throw an elbow? Yeah he did. Did he get ejected? No. Blame the refs for that UL fans.. They even went to the replay and watched it numerous times in slo mo. The refs made the call, right or wrong. So Cousins lost his head?? Yeah right only to hang an 18 and 18 dominating performance on the Cards. Measly 9 points:lol:. Whatever makes ya feel good:lol: Question to UL fans. How long do you accept the mediocrity that has become Cardinal Ahtletics? How the "Elite" have fallen:dancingpa:dancingpa
