Exactly OR:thumb: I'm getting a kick out of these fans bashing Cousins. Did he throw an elbow? Yeah he did. Did he get ejected? No. Blame the refs for that UL fans.. They even went to the replay and watched it numerous times in slo mo. The refs made the call, right or wrong. So Cousins lost his head?? Yeah right only to hang an 18 and 18 dominating performance on the Cards. Measly 9 points:lol:. Whatever makes ya feel good:lol: Question to UL fans. How long do you accept the mediocrity that has become Cardinal Ahtletics? How the "Elite" have fallen:dancingpa:dancingpa

I am amazed at the lack of perspective from the U of K fans. These comments are based on a limited view. What about U of K football just a few years ago? What about U of K going through 2 basketball coaches within the last few years? U of K might have well hung it up? What if U of K gets caught with NCAA violations for this team and gives up all of their wins? Will this then put them below 2000 wins and everyone would get a refund on their T-shirts?

I think the best comments I heard about Cousins comes from Eric Crawford from the C-J. Crawford says:

"THE FAMOUS FOREARM: The DeMarcus Cousins shot on Jared Swopshire happened right in front of me. Watching it live, I had no doubt that it was intentional. It came after the whistle and continued after the whistle. I also had no problem with none of the players being ejected. Especially in the first minute of the game. The luckiest guy not to be tossed in that whole exchange was Reginald Delk, and here's why. Delk was not involved in the play. He came from outside to take a shot at Cousins (yes, defending a teammate), and when you do that, you're risking ejection. If the refs tossed one player in that situation, they had to toss the other. I thought, in the end, they were right to toss neither. I do think, even though Cousins' forearm was intentional (look at the photo above -- he was up off his knees, on his feet pushing down) that guys get some leeway when they're rolling around on the ground like that. But Cousins' assertion that he was "just going after the ball," from the replay, clearly is not correct."

"CONSEQUENCES FOR COUSINS: The problem Cousins faces now, however, that his shot to Swopshire has been seen via replay around the nation (unfortunately, at 1:20 a.m., I've yet to see that replay -- job to do, etc.), is that his margin for error will grow more narrow. Refs are going to be watching him more closely, and the next time he crosses the line, he probably will be more likely to get the hook because of what happened today. UK just better hope that doesn't happen to be in an NCAA Tournament game."

Do you think that Oliver Stone will contact the schools for the rights to do a feature film of the game?

No one has mentioned the red scarf worn by Rick at his PC....Is this a sign, a new fad, was the heat turned off, does he want to be a red neck?

You people crack me up.

There is nothing I can add that has not been said before. I will take the win and be happy to move on to the SEC. The Cards played a scappy game and hung in there. The Cats got going at cruch time and pulled it out. I am not so sure that UK could not help but benefit from a loss or two before the big dance.

Can someone who was at the game or maybe it has been addressed already, explain why the UL players did not come out when introduced and also not shaking hands before or after the game.

Too much smack talk, ... a handshake line could have turned into a brawl. I'm okay with both coaches handling it the way they did.

The only thing that really made me sick in this game was the fact that Cousins is a young man who needs to be reeled in. He has very little discipline and should have been ejected this afternoon.....other than that, it was a great effort by both teams. They both played very poorly, they're lucky they were playing each other.....lots of stuff to build on for both programs.

:thumb:

Nothing I'd disagree with in that post...Cousins should have been ejected, IMO. He needs to learn to control himself. He gets mad like that at least one time in every game and the results vary from some animated gesturing to an elbow.

There's a difference between being a physical, enforcer-type presence and being childish and immature to the point where you want to fight every time somebody hits you a little harder than you like. He acts like a baby. And, to be honest, he doesn't always play that physical, IMO. He goes soft to the rim quite a bit and flops and flails like Vlade Divac. I'd like to see him be more physical and aggressive on a consistent basis during game play, while cutting out the needless 3-year old temper tantrums.

Everybody has something to improve on...his just happens to be controlling his emotions. Even though I don't like it, I can tolerate the temper tantrums, but not so much when he acts like he's in the octagon instead of on a basketball court.:idunno:

Yea I am Kidding...I'm not the one calling Cousins a Thug...:thumb:

BTW not saying you did either...:thumb:

Cousins just needs to grow up. He is very inmature at times. Needs to chill out.:ylsuper:

Any win is a big win and this was a big win, especially over your archrival.

to FBisKing: "What does that have to do with basketball?" -

Punk/Thug is a comment about Cousin's character, not just basketball. IMO an elbow/fore arm shiver in the heat of competition does not necessarily make him a punk/thug. However Pitino's open affair followed by paying the "lady" off to have an abortion does put him in the category of punk/thug in my book. If we're comparing character..........

So, you or no one else that want to play that card has ever made a mistake? Do you know first hand the ins and outs, (so to speak), of this incident? Was he the only one there? So are all of your divorced friends that had affairs of questionable character? Did he have this indescretion on the court during a game? I still try to understand why PERSONAL issues relate to the game itself?

I certainly didn't see anything out there on the court that was comparable to an abortion.

Did she have the abortion? There are millions of people that believe in freedom of choice, so are all of those folks of questionable character? What do you believe in that does not follow along with Political Correctness? Was there an abortion on the court, during the game? This has WHAT to do with the on court issues? Reaching?

Saying these types of things proves to me that most of the people on these boards are angels and have never done anything except for live biblically and perfectly and therefore have every right to judge a situation that you really know nothing about.

This thread was about the BLASTANT elbow/forearm thrown by cousins. His intent was to cause harm to Swopshire in the middle of an athletic contest.

But keep throwing out all of the stuff that happens on ones personal time as it makes so much sense to get involved in their personal lives and judge. Was what he did felonious? OR....did she commit the felony?

As far as the game goes... There was a lot of wrong done on BOTH sides, Technicals were given, Cousins tried to blatantly hurt Swopshire, THAT is the basis of what is being discussed.

If you want to discuss the morality of abortion, there are other boards for that.
