Here's the thing on the Cousins play...

The refs made a call and the game was played out. That being said, the announcers and most unbiased people felt the punishment didn't fit the crime.

As a Card fan, I would not of wanted to play (potentially beat) UK without him. It's more fun with both teams giving their best shot.

A fair question: How would UK fans feel if the roles were reversed? Would we of ever heard the end of it? I doubt it... LOL

UK was the better team, end of story.

Cousins should have been tossed IMO. He wasn't and he dominated inside. KY got a lot of good looks outside but couldn't hit. That's where they have to get better as the year goes on.

Best of luck to both teams. It's good for the state when they are two of the better programs in the nation. It's good for my health when KY is a little better :)

The most unbiased people would be the refs.

If the roles were reversed, the UK faithful would be calling for an ejection and the Card fans would be saying they got it right.

 Good point.

UK did not played well, but UL had a say on that, still happy to get the W.

Coach Cal will have lots of things to work on, thanks to this game.

Now its on to the SEC,which should be a fun ride.

GO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!15-0:dancingpa

No doubt Cousins play was bad but at the same time noone should say Samuels didnt try to land one on Patterson. Doesnt justify the actions of Cousins but my point is both teams played physical.

I think UofL came into the game wanting to get physical with the young UK team (which I think was smart). UK reacted pretty well to it and returned the physical play. This type of game should go a long way in getting UofL ready for a physical Big East. If anyone should be suspended from this game its the refs. They done nothing to take control of this and let hard fouls go uncalled (by both teams).

Apparently no Louisville players would shake hands with any of the Cats before the game. Did anyone witness this?

Wow! This is funny! I think that U OF K fans have lost the right to complain about laetner and the stomp. Even the TV guys thought it was unbelievable that he was not ejected. Now that it is one of their guys, it is not that bad! Now that they are 15 - 0 it really was not his fault. I am laughing because U OF K fans have made their deal with the devil and have become what they USED to hate the most, Thug ballers that win games and do whatever it takes.

Congrats cats! I hope your deal pays off and you get your much needed national champiuonship! It is what most of you live for.

GO CARDS!

So you don't think it was a good idea to take the 1,2,13,22, players in the country then? Thug or not, I thought we was wanting top flight recruits in here, now that we get them you have complaints about not being clean enough. Can't have your cake and eat it too.

I have a feeling that those saying Cousins is a "punk" weren't at the game and didn't see all of the actions in the pregame that lead to the actions in the first minute of the game. After the national anthem the players crossed each other going into the locker rooms and one of the UofL player pretty obviously bumped Cousins on purpose, which lead to Cousins pushing him. Then as the teams came back out, the ever innocent Jerry Smith began jawing at Cousins as soon as he walked on the floor. During the opening tip, Miller walks up to Smith to try to slap hands, he rejects him, as does Sosa. Class acts if I must say.

Louisville flat out could not play with UK, and Pitino knew that. His plan was to get in Cousins' head and to be physical with Wall, Miller, Dodson, and Bledsoe. It was a plan that worked and made the game much closer than it really should have been.

Cousins is the player that UK needs and has missed. There hasn't been a guy like him since Chuck Hayes when it comes to toughness and having his teammates' back.

:notworthy: Thank You! That is what I wanted to say just couldn't pull it all together.

Cousins always plays with a chip on his shoulder, so what do you expect in a huge rivalry game with all the pre-game chattering going on? You can label him a "punk", "thug", or whatever, but fact is he can flat out ball when he puts in his full effort. This UK team goes as far as he takes them.

People just need to realize if a guy like Boogie is on your team then you love him, and if not, you can't stand the guy...

Cousins' "elbow" was hardly anything to cry about. Do I think it was stupid for him to do that, yes, are you guys blowing it WAY out of proportion...without a doubt. I am not hearing, "Cousins is a punk", "I hate Cousins". I am hearing "man I wish we had a guy like that". Sure he gets a little carried away, but this is not Cal's first spoiled, tempered, problem child.

As far as the game. Very ugly. UK went like 2-14 from behind the arc and only 61% from the line. They only got 8 more FT than UL...ehh weak argument. Wall just did what Wall does (even though he didn't have a huge game). After the forearm shove that Cuz gave, he settled down and had a beast game. He got a little ittitated when he didn't get some fouls called in the 2nd half, but he didn't let that affect his game, and that's nice to see. All in all, it's a win over UL, and 15-0. Going into SEC play, I like how they look.
