Does Highlands...

Cincinnati is NOT in KY, Streak!

Ouch...

You kind of missed the point... no problem. Let me ask you this... after the season is over and the Birds bring home the coveted trophy: if you couldn't have both, would you rather be number 1 in the state of Kentucky or be number 1 in Greater Cincinnati?

BTW, In case I am questioned or second guessed on my loyalty I feel we are number one in Kentucky and in Greater Cinciinnati!

Highlands beat the best in Cincinnati. That's a fact. Enough said.

I believe you get the actual ring for being #1 in KY!!! But it would be nice to wear the "mythical ring" too! Is there any truth to the rumor that HHS will be unveiling a "mythical banner" at Fridays' game??? OH...I got the point...and jabbed you with it!!

I'm a legend in my own mind. Does that make me a mythical legend?:lol:

Nobody said anything about a regular basis. We're talking about one season. How can you say a team is not the top team in any particular season, simply because they haven't been so on a regular basis? If that were true, there'd be a whole lot of teams giving back their trophies. :idunno:

I said something about a regular basis.

You've completely misinterpreted what I was saying about the "year to year" thing. It seems to me that, after losing time & time again, we would learn some humility. Instead, it seems as if NKY gets 1 win and some people act like it's their first ever win. If I was an outsider, I would think that this was HHS' 1st team to get some big time publicity.

Sorry but the comparative stuff isn't worth too much IMO.

If Highlands was in 6A, they would not even be a lock to win the KY title as they would have to go through X and Trinity and those are not the same teams that Cincy X beat earlier in the year. And as I believe we all know, whether we want to admit it, that one game does not mean a lot in a whole season so the Greater Cincy champ is a bit of a stretch.

Enjoy the Cincy X win and finish the year off with a 5A title and you will have completed a great year!

Unfortunately, we will never know who is truly the best team in KY but I would put my money on Lou X in a game against Highlands at this point of the season. For what it's worth, against Trinity, I'd pick Highlands.

Just my opinion!

I'm a legend in my own mind. Does that make me a mythical legend?:lol:
Yes...of mythic proportions. :thumb:
The fact of the matter is, NKY schools cannot compete with the GCL schools on a regular basis.

I said something about a regular basis.
It would seem so.

I didn't misinterpret a thing -- change your meaning if you like.

Again, you're taking this stuff way too seriously.

I think I've made my point here. It seems others, including some of your fellow HHS fans, agree.

Highlands beat the best in Cincinnati. That's a fact. Enough said.

I think you are on the right track. Highlands beat St. X , who beat Elder,Colerain, and Moeller which we all have known for quite some time have big time football programs year in and year out. This year Highlands accomplished something they have tried to do 7 times before and this year they did it. They finally beat one of Ohio's best, but as far as anything mythical, I just don't think that is the correct word to use. Yes, Highlands fans are very proud of their team, and some may mistake that pride for arrogance, but it was a huge win against an opponent that hardly anyone including some of HHS fans didn't think would happen. Just look at the differnce in the male enrollment, and look at the differnce in the size of the players. Heck, even the reporter covering the game thought it was going to be a X blowout after seeing the size difference in the players. People in Kentucky are not trying to degrade Ohio football, there just saying with the win over X,they finally got that monkey off their back. As far as Ohio teams in previous years, not acting like its a big deal to beat HHS, it probably isn't but those giant schools are supposed to beat the little schools in Ky. or anywhere else. Bottom line HHS this year had an amazing amount of very talented players, and depth to pull off the victory. It may be some time to have a group like this to come through Highlands. I think people in Ohio just don't realize what it takes to beat a Cinti. power, being the size of Highlands because the big four in Cincy are pretty much the same size in enrollment.

You know, I was one to post when Cincy St. X won Sat. night. Enough is enough! Here we are on Monday and this thread pops up. I'm afraid that the fans and hopefully only the fans are heading down a path of disappointment. Yes it's great that HHS beat Cincy St. X this year. If the Birds don't win in Dec. then I'm thinking that that win against Cincy St. X won't be so impressive.

Time to move on! Like others have said, it's now one game at a time. After December 4th, you all can talk all you want but until then it's Montgomery Cty first.

Actually you all can talk all you want. JMO!!!!

St. Xavier - 1,171 boys

Colerain - 846 boys (325 less than X)

Elder - 689 boys (482 less than X)

Moeller - 671 boys (500 less than X)

OHSAA: 2009-2011 Enrollment Figures

Highlands - 414 boys (757 less than X)

(2008-2009 AUDITED SCHOOL ENROLLMENTS)

No, but try to find a Greater Cincy team ranked higher than Highlands is at this point (hint: you won't find one).

All well and good. I suppose St. X Cincy should have claimed a "mythical" dual state title in 2007. I just don't remember them or anyone on here making that claim. Time to move on. Here's to the Birds continued success and their run towards a threepeat for the "real" Ky 5A state title. Go Birds!!

The Texans beat the Bengals this season. Are they the mythical champions of the AFC North?:D
