IMO ... I believe that is what Dixiedarling is saying you should already be convinced about. HHS has stayed focused and taken them one game at a time all year.

This game has me puzzled in regards to strategy. Other than HHS' goal of being undefeated its a game that has no impact in regards to playoffs. Will each team play it close to the vest? Will Ryle hold back so that their playoff opponents do not see some formations they are working on?

 

Or will it be a huge game for both teams? HHS going undefeated? Ryle with a chance to make a statement?

 

This statement is the obvious difference between HHS and other programs (perhaps programs that you are affiliated with) . Every week, every game is huge for HHS. Every year, the ultimate goal is to be undefeated and State Champs, HHS does not play it close to the vest they make you stop them. No secrets here in Ft Thomas, just football execution. This isnt the NFL!!! Now with that all said, I cant speak for Ryle, but my guess is if they want to move their program to another level then they better throw everything they have out there as well Friday nite, which my guess would be they will. This should be a great football game compared to the last 3 weeks for the Birds. :thumb:

I don't believe Dale would take a chance at losing the state championship just to finish the regular season undefeated. Lets say the soph gets hurt during the game and Dale feels the best solution for winning THIS game is to put his injured former qb in? You're saying he would do that? I don't buy it.

I witnessed all 15 wins for the 2007 team. At no time during that run did HHS not play at full tilt with all players to win every game. Now that being said there were some games where the starters didn't see the 2nd half. Do not expect anything less this weekend. It's not how the program is wired.

While your thoughts and comments are logical and reasonable, Dale is so unpredictable, his unpredictableness (if there is such a word) is predictable. If I've learned one thing in following Dale's teams over the last 15 years, it's that I never know what the man is going to do week to week.

I totally agree with the execution part, but I think it's now pretty obvious that HHS witheld QB keepers from all games prior to St. X so that they could spring Bardo's speed & running ability on an unsuspecting St. X defense. QB keepers of various types had been the bread & butter of their offense for at least the previous two years, and we saw maybe 1 or 2 in HHS's first 5 games combined. I don't care what you call that - I call it great coaching.

Actually, maybe he did hold the keeper til the x game but if anyone that knew Bardo or listened to what Highlands posters were posting about Bardo during the summer at 7 on 7's and knew (which many do) that Will is also a track star, should be able to figure out that the keeper would be a staple in the Highlands O.

 

Then again, I kinda remember some back in the summer just couldn't believe that Bardo was going to be any kind of Quarterback since he did not play it his Jr. year.:lol::lol:
