If somehow the Birds could be kept in the 20's, Ryle would have a real shot at this game. But, easier said than done as Ryle will have to play ball-control on offense and make the most of every opportunity. You should see more balance from the Raider O as Hempel continues to vary his receiver targets which will help prevent the Birds from focusing entirely to stop the ground game.

Earlier in the season, Highlands' defense was having some problems getting off the field, and as a result the scoring was reduced, since the opponents were able to put together some time-consuming drives (now, a lot of those drives did not lead to points being scored on the 'Birds, but they did keep the Highlands offense off the field). However, this trend dramatically changed during the Cincy St. X game, and since then HHS' defense has played more aggressively.

 

I agree with your point about a low-scoring game favoring Ryle, but Ryle's offense will have to play a whale of a game against HHS' defense in order to do this.

But, that does not seem to be in the DNA of Coach Warner. I predict a game decided by 7 points or less that could go either way. An upset is certainly possible, especially with Ryle's improvements on the D side of the ball.

Yes, Ryle actually took two 4th-down gambles in their own territory last game. Ryle will show everyone what they are made of and surprise some of the Birdie fans who think this will be a 5-TD affair. Can't wait til tomorrow nite.

I bet we some offense we haven't seen that much all year. I look for some new offensive stand outs this week. Might depend on the weather though. I like the Birds in this one.

Straight up, Ryle is a good team; but not as good as Highlands. The Birds play until the last tic. Ryle not as well. The Conner game was a Conner win but was an off night for them the first half. They had 2 touchdown passes dropped in the end zone and a field goal hitting the upright. Conner never gave up, just beat themselves.

I would love to see a Ryle upset, but they will have to play perfect to beat the birds. No costly mistakes can be made to beat a team like Highlands.

BTW, Conner's last two TDs were with less than two minutes left in the game, equaling more than 1/2 of their total offense, with quite a few of Ryle's 2s in the game. Conner was never in the game! Don't count on this tonight, I'm sure that the 1s will play the entire game.

 

HHS has a very nice team and a long tradition, they have proved themselves over the years as a powerhouse in the area. Ryle has a very nice program as well. Look for alot of hard hitting tonight, should be a good game.

This will possibly be HHS biggest test of the year next to St X. If the Birds come out with the same intensity and play up to their potential then look out. But I know that Ryle has improved greatly over the season and this game is a "statement" game for Ryle so be ready for some hard hitting tonite everyone. Dale will have the Birds ready to go as always. GO BIRDS
