Sorry for the sarchastic remark. It seems that every year CC and Ryle field very competitive teams that always are in the hunt for the state crown.

Saint Xavier/Ryle Predictions
How about we talk about this years team because they are the ones playing..We dont need to compare the two teams because it doesnt matter, the 06 team was very good who were state runner-up, this team is also very good with alot of talent and could suprise people. Coach Warner has done alot with this program and has produced some good talent, but we do not need to be on here comparing current players and past players, stick to whats ahead Ryle at ST. X

Are you sure about that? Ryle's stands probably don't seat over 5000. Where was the other 5000+?

Second round matchups
I have one other comment and then I will get off of this issue. You say that states, and I presume you are referring to Ky here, "are not going to have teams travel all across the state because of rankings". In one instance , I can tell you a team traveled approximately two and a half hours to play a team that was ranked much higher in the state and soundly beat them at their home field. Looking at combined opponent win-loss records of the two teams involved, the inferiorly ranked team had an opponent win to loss record of 64wins and 36 losses while the superiorly ranked team had an opponent win to loss record of 49 wins to 51 losses. Would this team have had to travel that distance if their was a different ranking system? Probably not.

Second round matchups
There are other states with the approximate size and population as KY that do not have the district and ranking system that do just fine with the computer system.
-
Second round matchups
Never have been a fan of district play and the way the state ranks teams during the season. I like the harbin computer ranking system. I believe it forces teams to play a quality schedule during the season. I am a fan of just the top 16 teams in each class making the playoffs anyway.

Second round matchups
Which is why the KY playoff system is messed up. Why do ranked teams, 1-10,have to play each other so early in the playoffs?

Youth wrestling
Check out the Raider Youth Wrestling program. They practice at Gray Middle School next to Ryle. Don't know who the coach is now, but if you get in touch with the head coach at Ryle, Tim Ruschell, he could steer you in the right direction.

Where do you live? Kentucky is a big state.

I really don't think you have the "big picture". First of all, I do not believe that counties, (Boone in particular), creates high schools on the premise to field superior athletic teams. Whether it be men's or women's. It builds schools for one reason, and one reason only; overcrowding. The reason that our schools are facing this dilemma, is the fact that this metroplex in the Northern Ky area is a wonderful place to live and the population growth within this county is growing at a tremendous pace. Children within this county have faced situations where one year they are playing on a team with their best friend and the next year he or she is your adversary. Sound fun? Maybe, maybe not. Make them less of a competitor? I don't think so. State championships (football in particular), has eluded teams many times in Boone County, I will give you that. Given the present situation, championships may never come again. But I will tell you one thing, children in this county and Northern Ky as a whole. Whether it be athletics, music, academics, etc. will show up ready to compete and compete with everything they have on any given day. Decent competitiveness; it will not be. Mediocrity; don't plan on it. That's just my opinion guys.

I didn't think that Ashland could hold Dixie to 7 points.

Ryle/Pleasure Ridge Park Predictions
PRP teams in the past have been very athletic and move all over the field.
-
Dixie / Ashland predictions
No way you will hold Dixie to 7 points.
-
Dixie / Ashland predictions
Can't see Ashland' run offense much better than what Dixie has faced in Northern KY. with teams such as Ryle and Cov Cath.
